Nice chest. But I didn’t know it was big because it was listed under Doll house size and dollhouse size was what I wanted.

I got this treasure chest for my 4 year old son for his birthday and he was so stoked! I wrapped a treasure map and hid the chest. When he opened the present and the map he had to go find the chest and the "treasure" we put inside. Chocolate coins are a winner plus I got an amethyst and some other crystals and he was very happy. He's since added other items and plays with it all the time. The handle on top is great and it is perfect size for a little boy. The quality is great. It seems to be sturdy and well made and the inside is lined. It's been about 4 months and there's been zero damage. The leather is a nice touch with real wood makes it feel like a really special item. For the price this is a steal. Super happy!

I was in search of an inexpensive, yet realistic 'pirates' treasure chest and this one is perfect! This decorative wood and leather small trunk chest is constructed well, is very spacious, has a classic 'treasure chest' look, is economical, is way more than decorative - it's useful for storing small items or collections, and was delivered in perfect condition and timely! What more can you ask for? I'm thoroughly pleased. One of my very best Amazon.com purchases ever....seriously! I'm using mine for a genuine-looking pirate's booty geocache (filled with 'toy' gold doubloons, jeweled rings, toy telescopes and pirate figurines, etc), placing it inside a waterproof, plastic, locking ammo-container hidden in nature. (Check out the Photo I uploaded.) BUT, this chest is attractive enough, I could see it displayed prominently in the proper 'nautical' or similar home decor on a bookshelve or tabletop in a library or den. Bracing the lid slighly open to view the inside contents (maybe coin collection or a telescope or compass, etc) might add a touch of class too.

I've recently switched out from the plastic keys container to this box, and it is definitely an improvement on the eyes as well as utility. It is heavy enough to also serve as a bookend on my shelf.

I gave this to my little step-grandson at his 3rd birthday party, unwrapped, with consumables tucked inside (play dough/tools, crayons, stickers, markers, cards, etc) and I painted his name on the back in white acrylic paint. We called it his "Treasure Box". He loved it! All his other family members - aunts, uncles, and all the real grandparents gave him the usual toys and games, many great, but once all the gifts were opened & looked at - the first thing he wanted back was his Treasure Box! It was a hit! The rest of the family complimented me for the creativity with this kind of a gift & felt a pirate's eye patch & such would have been another great addition inside.Quality wise, I needed to first hammer down a few exposed staples which had a potential for poking little fingers. The thin "ply board" back material was a little warped, and I suspect if a 3 year threw it around then it might not hold up. The latches and closing straps were fun and the over all look is rich and rustic with a great size - not too small and not to big. It was perfect for what it cost & what I wanted it for.

Bought as a Pirate Treasure Chest for my 9 year old grandson. Decent quality and he was thrilled. I added some fake plastic gold coins and a big bag of diamonds from the craft store in a drawstring bag. He put in his own treasures and we have one very happy boy. I will try to keep him little as long as I can. They grow up so fast and anything that is not electronic and uses his imagination, I will buy and get down on the floor and play with the kiddies in a heartbeat. The chest is nice enough that if he hangs on to it his future wife will hopefully allow it in their house someday. If not, Grandma will keep it in hers. :-)

Overall disappointed with this product. Ordered it as a gift for a family member. First one came with a broken strap on top. Ordered a replacement which appeared to be dropped a few times while en route. Had various damaged areas along with molded places.Overall, if the product came in good condition, I'd probably give it 3.5 stars overall. The material is fairly cheap but looks decent. The glue used for the straps leaves a lot to be desired.

This is amazing! I love it. It's made out of wood but lightweight and looks like a realistic treasure chest for the treasure hunt I'm planning. It's medium-small (about the size of a laptop, maybe), and the perfect size for what I was looking for. My only disappointment is that I can't immediately show it to the treasure hunters I'm planning to give it to!
