Glad I got this instead of something lesser.
I obsessed over whether to buy this, but after using it for around 90 minutes I couldn't be happier. My old router, a Dewalt, died recently after not many hours of use (but a lot of years). Since I hadn't used the previous one much since I bought it, I was thinking maybe I should get a lower end router. Part of the decision was the tongue and groove bits I just got, and all my other bits, are half inch shank. After looking at some reviews, I decided to bite the bullet and get this one.Part of the decision was that I probably will want to get a router table, and the fixed base can be mounted there and then the motor swapped. Much of the reason is that the adjustment seemed dead simple. My Dewalt took 15 irritating minutes with a micrometer to adjust.I've used the Bosch for around 90 minutes today and couldn't be happier. I was able to adjust it in a minute, using the fixed base, and then used it to run some tests. Once I was satisfied with those, I did around 84 feet worth of tongue cutting. In all that, I didn't have a single problem, operator or equipment. Most likely was the operator. The base is wonderful, easy to place and glides along smoothly. The coarse adjustment in the fixed base is kinda hard to operate, IMHO.At first I thought I might complain about the "lock" trigger being right where I would naturally grab it, leading to it being locked sometimes when I didn't expect it to be. But then I started just locking it at the start of a cut, then clicking out at the end, and I think it gives slightly better control. The other minor complaint is that it seems to eject dust right at my crotch. I came out of that session filthy.

LOVE IT!
Such a great router. I burnt my brain up researching between this one and two others I really liked for two months before deciding on this one. But this ones has features there's didn't. That lighted bottom is awesome. Extremely smooth and sturdy design. At first I had trouble getting the motor completely out, but figured there was a reason so I took my time and found out that there is. The fixed base has a 2nd safety catch, so you have to press TWO levers to release it if you are putting the motor in another base. The fixed base is where I noticed this. The reason is because that's the one you use for a router table. When it's upside down like that and you release it, it can come sliding out and crashing down. This second latch prevents that so you are ready and aware. I didn't know about that until I was playing with it and stumbled onto the article later. It's not advertised much for some reason. Just another testament to the engineering of this tool - such a great choice for so many reasons. I chose this one over the 1617 because of the handles too. Those wood knobs for an older person, is not a good idea. These handles on the MRC23 gives you so much more stability and control there's no contest. It's balanced very well. I am very happy with this router - plenty of power too. Thanks Bosch

MRC23EVSK GR-R-R-R-REAT!
After my 16 year-old logic controlled Craftsman 12 amp router died, it took two days of internet searching and decision making to finally settle on this unit. I am very pleased with the build quality and performance of this unit as it has the most bang for the buck, and with 15 amps of power, it remains at the top of the food chain. One negative factor that has permeated this thread was the unit's sticky plunger mechanism. Well, mine did stick right out of the box, but others have said these come without prior greasing from the factory. So, I applied Stihl 2-cycle engine oil to the posts and after working it into the mechanism for several minutes, the plunger travel became silky smooth. The supplied case is great for storing this unit and its accessories. The quality Bosch metal router table is well built, stable, and accurate, and its easy to switch the motor between the fixed base and plunger base. I attached the table legs to a 2x6 in order to further raise it above the 3/4" plywood base, which is now easily anchored onto my favorite Jawhorse for portability. The speed dial is well designed in that the RPMs increase by 3000 RPM for every number between 1 and 6, i.e. 10,000 on #1, 13,000 on #2, 16,000 on #3, etc., which is easy to remember (10K + 3, 6, 9,12,15K) and thus, you no longer need to worry about an LCD panel breaking later. Good job Bosch, 10/10 in design and implementation.

Bosch router set
I’ve had this for a few months now and used it on a few projects. I have to say I love this router! Super smooth and powerful. The trigger and soft start takes some getting used to, but once that’s figured out, you’re on your way. The micro depth adjustments make setting depths quick and easy, and there are a slew of attachments available to do just about anything you’d want to do with a router and then some.I would definitely recommend and will be adding more to my shop as it grows.
