Very informative
This book has everything from exercising to recipes. It breaks down the cause of obesity and tells you how to slim down. It's a great book. Very easy read.

Changed my life
This book and the TV show (My 600 Pound Life) has changed my life, and has forever changed the way I think about food. The diet is simple, and all the background information is extremely helpful. I'm not saying it's EASY, but it's not complicated at all. Dr. Now has a very down to earth, matter of fact approach that I really appreciate. He requires his patients to lose a certain amount of weight BEFORE weight loss surgery, and they do it by following his diet. I'm not as heavy as the people on his show, but thanks to the information in this book, I've lost 65 pounds in the last year. At my age (67) that isn't easy to do. I would encourage anyone struggling with weight issues to get this book and at least give it a try. I am so thankful that I did!

Not worth the price
It is a very informative book, but I feel like most of the information is fluff to fill the pages. If you're looking to buy this book, chances are its full of most of the things you've already heard or seen before for most of the pages. I was under the impression there was something not available to the public for the success of Dr. Now's patients. This book is not worth the 40 dollar price tag, you're mostly paying for the name of the man who wrote it. Informative yes, but still not worth it unless you can afford to splurge 40 dollars on a book.

A good read. Educational
This book is very informal, it breaks down from what causes obesity, how to avoid obesity, carbs, calories, protein, sugar etc. I like the recipes, and learning about over eating. However this book is probably more helpful for people far going weight loss surgery. I’m going to try the diet, and hopes to still lose a few pounds

Informative about technical things, not so much about meal planning.
The book is very repetitive. I was reading a passage, and I thought I had accidentally flipped back a couple of pages, because I had already read that paragraph before. This happens a lot. He repeats certain phrases over and over. Lots of spelling errors (No snaking), but that's OK. The Doctor's first language is not English. The best part is his explanation of the terrible things that obesity does to the body. It ruins every facet of one's health. The actual diet chapter is sparse. A few recipes, some samples of meals. I think one would tire quickly of large quantities of crunchy salads, although if you want to shrink your liver quickly to qualify for bariatric surgery, it's the way to go.

Great Wisdom from Dr. Now
While a little on the dry side, this book is full of positive and in-depth information for weight loss and the issue of obesity. It’s a great way to learn about the different weight loss surgical options as well as a healthy, lower-carb way of eating.
