6001BL Weatherpro Turbo Retro Fit Cap

Product fit as described and does not leak even in very heavy windblown rain. Would recommend and very easy to install. Looks great, very low profile.

Ordered 4 to retro old spinners. One arrived damaged so it immediately went back. Took five days for the replacement to arrive. Were all very easy to install.Composed of very lightweight plastic. I do have long term concerns how they will handle the intense sun of the Southwest, especially since they're black. I hope they are made with some potent UV resistant composites or I'll be replacing these much sooner than the old spinners. We shall see.

these were great fast easy install - comes with new screwsfor the money and other products out there - this did what i needed it toat the time i was battling rats - they started doing construction at the end of my neighborhood and tore out ivy that had been there for who knows how longanywho it pushed all the rats to the housing and they were using the wirly birds to jump into my attic as one of the paths of entryas far as rain its only rained a few days i should probably go check but so far no visable issues - if i have an issue with it i will update review

I entered an Amazon search for a roof vent turbine and this product came up with a title that implied that it is a turbine. It is NOT -- It does not turn. It is simply a simple vent cap. Price is way too high for a simple vent cap. Many cheaper options out there-- but in any case I am replacing a turbine and I was expecting a turbine. So-- it has been returned

My existing turbine vents were noisy and could vibrate due to wear and tear over the years. The Duraflos were easy and quick to install by the roofer. They are also attractive replacements.Now for the not so good. Because one of the vents is over the attic door I can see how it performs during rainy weather. If the rain is heavy and the wind is blowing strongly, I can see and feel small drops of rain coming through the vent slots.I am in a semi-arid location so a small amount of moisture in the attic is not a problem. Those of you who live in a wet climate with lots of heavy rain should consider something else.Also, the flow of hot air out of the vent is not as good as a standard turbine vent. I am able to verify this because I also have a supplemental thermostat controlled electrical vent fan that goes on and off when the attic temperature becomes too high and the static air vents can’t handle the extra hot air that builds up (especially on calm days).Compared to the turbine vents: the Duraflo vents causes the attic to become hotter earlier and cool down slower (after the sun goes down) than the old turbines. This means that the electric fan vent starts earlier in the day and operates longer in the cooler evening. This is roughly: one hour earlier and one hour later.

It’s plastic & I get intense summer sun. Wished I could have bought metal.

Once you figured out you need to adjust the neck on the old turbine as these are a retro fit it was an easy task. So they have been up one year to date. My attic is hotter than it was with the whirlybirds these replaced. They have still held up to AZ Heat and UV Light.

It fit perfectly.
