A beautiful doll!
I just got this doll yesterday! It was one of the first things I bought on amazon, so I went for the free super saver shipping because it was well FREE right! It took a little over a week for it to come... If you're in no hurry to receive the doll, then super saver shipping is a great way to save some money, but if you need it right away or just can't wait to have it in your possesion, then pay for shipping. After waiting so long for it to come, it finally arrived! I emediately oppened the packaging and the doll was lovely!!! I then took it out of it's box, that took a while. When I finally did, the doll had a few imperfections. The dress was wrinkled, the hair was matted down, and threads were hanging out everywhere. I ended up carefully washing her hair to make it less stiff. I then re-curled it using the boiling water method. I also fluffed the dress up a bit and snipped off the little loose threads. Now the doll looks stunning and it is in the center of my collection of barbies! I absolutely adore it!

All good but one thing...
This doll is very pretty, however she might be flawed because her left hand that is on her waist is not shaped well. Compared to the other hand it seems flat and the detail is not good at all which is disappointing. So I am glad my daughter is not a collector and will be taking this doll out of the box because I think its a big enough flaw that a collector would send it back. The seller packed this doll and another with minimum packing air pouches just so they dont move around and my boxes seemed fine with a few scuffs on the corners so again i dont know if a collector would mind because there were no dents, cuts, or rips. For a gift to a little girl who is soft on toys and is not a collector I hope she likes it.

Stunning idea, average doll.
When I saw Robert Best's concept for this doll, I thought his idea was creative and magnificent. It's unfortunate that the end product did not live up to the full potential of the original illustration. In the picture, Best has given the doll drop earrings, a ring and a bracelet, all of which are missing on the final product. Granted the doll does have earrings; however, they are basic studs and nowhere near as eye-catching as the original design. The photo also shows the doll as having full blonde hair, whereas the doll's hair is really much flatter and matted-looking in real life, nowhere near as pleasing as they make it look. The dress is relatively the same as the illustration, minus the sequins on the chest which have been replaced with glitter (another cutback). Also, some dolls come with a necklace, and some do not. I was never able to tell if the necklace was an exclusive to a particular store, but I wondered why some would come with this added bonus and yet cost the same amount as the ones without. Some people have also complained about the position that the doll is in and the excessive makeup, but compared to the other problems this is forgivable. All in all, if you are thinking about buying one of the December 2009 dolls, I would recommend the Holiday Barbie by far. She is more pleasing to the eye and has much better accessories. Though this is a cheaper-end doll (pink label, if I had to say so), I'm glad I bought this doll for half of the original price. Had I payed any more than that I would have been ripped off.Barbie Collector Generations of Dreams Doll

So pretty and nice!
This Barbie is so beautiful and elegant. I got this for a gift for my sister- a full grown woman with kids. She loved it- that tells you something! It might be my favorite Barbie I've ever seen. So colorful, bright, and interesting. You'll want to keep it in the box! In fact, I can't exactly speak for the hand feel of the fabrics because my sister did keep it in its box. But from very close up, through the plastic of the box, I could see that the dress and doll was of very good quality. Just so pretty.

Special request
My 10-year-old granddaughter requested this doll specifically for xmas. The price was so good that even if she plays with it, there is nothing lost. It is a collectible and arrived in pristine condition. It is more beautiful than you can see in photos and has lovely details. I like it.
