Lyrical rhyming text - colorful and fun!
I was pleasantly surprised by this book, which I ordered for my animal loving three yr old for Christmas. Per the title, I assumed it would be a counting book, but actually while it represents “100 dogs” it does not actually count them, but represents them via lyrical rhyming text much like a Dr. Seuss book- there is no plot or storyline, but my kids (ages 7,5,3) do not mind and find it comical and entertaining to read everytime we pick it up *which has been many a time now! Aside from the rhyming nature of the book, the bright colors and details are engaging and keep the questions flowing, we play a fun “I spy” at the end picking out our new favorite pup! All that to say, we now have the other “100” books on our wish list and can’t wait to discover them together-if you have a dog lover or animal enthusiast this will not disappoint

My toddlers love all the doggies!
This is such a cute book! My boys LOVE it! I heard there are some upset about a dog growling and being called “bad,” but honestly they should get over themselves. My boys and I love dogs, and it’s clearly the growl, not the breed of dog, that’s bad. I think it’s great to remind kids that even cute dogs may not want to petted, and they might need personal space (especially around kids). Mine have never been growled at by the one specifically in the picture, but they have by dogs (common family dogs in our area) like labs and a chihuahua. Even with that they don’t think all labs and chihuahuas are bad....just that some dogs need space and aren’t comfortable around kids. It’s an important lesson to learn! I am a rabbit owner, and every bunny picture and cartoon haas them eating carrots, which in real life, rabbits need a high fiber diet and not sugary foods like carrots. These are kids books, not scientific journals, folks! We love all dogs, and we feed our bunny Timothy hay. I’m a grown up with little boys who love this book, who has not encountered the issue that the dog breed folks seem to fear is happening.

Favorite Grammy Book!
A book that entertains at multiple levels. The youngest can point, an older one can look for the tail that belongs to the missing dog….and the dogs are comical for an adult to laugh at! Great book!Note: the board book has several differences. The missing dog is a he, the wary dog is scary, and most importantly there’s the “sniffing at a botty dog” (British word for, you guessed it, bottom) vs “did you just go potty, dog”. I needed the board book so my young grandkids can look at it on their own, but I prefer the hardcover version! Favorite book level, either way!

A great book
We found this book in the library and fell in love with it so we had to buy it.This is not quite the same version as in the library (I think it's a UK version vs US) but that doesn't impact the story at all. Just a couple words are a little different.Overall, a favorite book to read. Also, it came very nicely packaged and had no damage. The paperback cover is decently sturdy.

Fantastic
I ordered the book, and now have read it to my 4 year old a dozen times, she loves it. When you read the book, there's also kind of a hidden mystery going on in the drawings.... when my kid caught onto that, she became super obsessed with the book... it's an awesome kids book!! So many modern kids books have almost no writing in then, no words in them and are for 2 years olds vocabulary wise, you finish them in 3 mins and then the kid is still awake. This one takes a good 10 - 15mins to get through the copy and the pictures, and it teaches a lot of adjectives you would not even normally even think about teaching your kids. Strong recommendation also if you a parenting fan of 30 million words, this is the type of book your looking for to expand kids minds with humor, entertainment, and content.

Kids LOVE this sweet book!
This book is the cutest!!! My boys (4 and 2) love this book. We have read it every night for story time since I bought it. The illustrations are precious and I really think it’s helping my boys with their adjectives and using fun and descriptive words. If I could, I would buy this book 100 times over. It’s a complete hit in our household!!!
