Great for making Yogurt, Amazake, Sake-dane, etc.
So glad that Amazon has "Iris Ohyama Yogurt Maker"!!! Yes, it's bit costly because it is imported from Japan. But worth the money. I'm now enjoy making various healthy, fermented food such as Yogurt, Amazake and Sake-Dane (Fermented rice yeast). Wish the instructions and display buttons were written in English (right now it is only in Japanese.)

A good yogurt maker with accurate time/temperature adjustments
I bought this to make lactose-free yogurt, by using Costco brand lactose-free milk. There is no English labeled buttons on the device nor user manual. I used Iphone translate app to figure out the most of it. The first light in the auto menu is 'Plain', and the bottom button is 'Start' button, which needs to be pressed to begin the process. It has no power switch.Because I use lactose free milk, the resulting yogurt is not as firm as typical plain yogurt, but acceptable.Made in China. It comes with 1 liter size 2 containers. There is KYM-014 model from the same maker on Amazon, which has fewer auto setting, but otherwise, nearly identical. If you only use it for plain yogurt, it is the one you should buy at a much lower price.

Smelly Plastic Container (NOT BPA free?)
The plastic containers that comes with the product has a strong plastic smell, and it raised my concern whether it's toxin-free material or if it's a toxic material. The machine itself works wonderfully, and it is very easy to use tho.I've tried to ask the brand/seller a question whether the plastic container is BPA and other toxins free or not. Instead of receiving a simple answer, they kept on deleting my question and not answering. We buy these products to help our health, yet if the container material which touches the food directly is toxic, that defeats our purpose of good health.
