Cheap but comfortable
I get through a lot of boots on my daily two or three hour walks with my dog and as I’m not scaling mountains & the like, I look in the budget end of the range. Though I’ve only been wearing them for a week, these Karrimor Spike are very impressive. With many cheaper boots the sole is paper-thin & every pebble can be felt - not these. There is also frequently, a problem with the sole detatching from the upper - though it’s still very early days, these seem solid 🤞🏻.In the short time that I’ve owned the boots, I’ve walked through fields of long, wet grass - normally a good trial of waterproofing - and my feet have remained dry.In summary, if all continues to be good, Karrimor will be my first search when it comes to finding replacements.

Not bad for the money. So far
I’m hard in boots, I walk 10-15km on pavements and sandy beaches with the dogs each day.I value comfort and water resistance, along with some degree of long lasting abilities. So far I have about 450km on these and while they are showing a little wear, they have remained comfortable and water tight.I fully expect them to die inside six months, but if you do not walk as much as me, and you need comfortable boots that you can splash through puddles with and that will likely last you ages, then there are far worse options than theses.sizing is about right, I take a 45/46, these are 45s and were a touch tight, in the winter I will revert to 46s.

Glad I didn't buy at full price. Avoid buying
Initially I was impressed by these boot as I got them at a reduced price, they are by a known brand they were light weight and fitted well. But only after 6 months the sole had started to separate from the boot by a small amount which I addressed with some quality contact adhesive, job done and sorted or so I thought, only 2 months later and now they have fully failed and on boots that have only been worn for moderate usage. Avoid buying these boots..

Great boots
These are great boots for the price, nice and comfortable from the first time I wore them no breaking in at all. If you want a pair of walking shoes and don’t want to spend a fortune then I recommend these.

Karrimor are not Karrimor like they used to be
If you buy Karrimor these days then be advised, they are not the quality brand they used to be. The brand and logo is owned by Sports Direct. I have bought and sold Karrimor goods before they went into receivership in the late 90s and they were up there with the best and British (Accrington). If you want cheap and comfortable then that's what you will get, if you want longevity and high quality....forget it. They are average at most, hence 3 stars and that's being generous.

Poor quality
I’ve had these boots for 12 months. I do not hike. I use them to keep my feet warm in winter at work which is mainly an office job and walk to my local pub half a mile away !, the sole is now coming away and the sole has a hole so my feet get wet
