Scott Valentine (TV's Family Ties) and Michelle Little discover that true love has many faces, and occasionally claws, in the frightfully funny romance My Demon Lover. The happy-go-lucky but lonely Kaz (Valentine) is looking for love when he meets Denny (Little), a cute, kindhearted gal with an uncanny ability to attract stray pets and down-and-out boyfriends. Denny is sure she's met the man of her dreams when she sweeps Kaz off the streets and into her heart. But it's not exactly a match made in heaven because Kaz has a slight problem. Every time he's turned on, he becomes an animal -- literally -- complete with horns fur and sometimes a tail! Will Kaz ever be able to shake this curse? And will Denny finally bring out the best, not the beast, in her man? Find out in this monstrously hilarious film!

Quirky Romance with a Supernatural Twist
My Demon Lover offers a unique blend of romance and comedy, centering on an unconventional love story between a quirky woman and her cursed, shape-shifting lover. While the premise is creative and the humor playful, some of the special effects and plot points feel dated by today’s standards. Still, its campy charm and heartfelt moments make it an enjoyable watch for fans of 80s supernatural rom-coms.

Shout Did A Great Job On This One!
The blu ray release of this 80's gem looks and sounds fantastic! The HD transfer is a new 2k scan from the original interpositive and it looks great! I didn't see one speckle pop up at all. It has a natural grain field that resolves well. No trace of any DNR here. Black levels are good. This is the best this film has ever looked on any home media release. The only audio choice is HD DTS Master 2.0. The audio quality sounded really good. Dialogue was crisp and clear. Nice bonus features with new cast and crew interviews, including Scott Valentine, trailer, TV spot ect. Fans of this film should be very pleased with this blu ray release!

Trivial, cutesy, inconsequential, dated, forgettable, but vaguely amusing
Young guy turns into a demon whenever sex is in the air. Sweet leading lady with brassy friend. Entirely predictable but good for those times when you want to turn your brain off and stare at the goggle-box(tv). I’m not keen on 1980s movies usually, and if you feel the same way then this won’t be the movie that changes your mind. I watched the streaming version on Amazon Prime. People reviewing this movie from the DVD version complain about the colours being washed out and low sound volume. Guessing these issues were addressed for the streaming version as neither was a problem. All in all, it’s like a jelly belly for your brain; not offensive, not fabulous.

Cute Throwback
My husband wanted to watch this movie with me as it’s one of his childhood favorites. I really enjoyed the cheesiness of it.

Great Quality
I was shocked by the quality of this DVD, especially considering how old the movie is. The picture and sound are above average. The movie itself is a fun watch. I was about 12 when I first saw it, so I thought it was hilarious back then. It didn't get as many laughs out of me this time around, but I appreciated the special effects makeup and lack of CGI. Most importantly, Scott Valentine was as cute as I remembered. I can see why I had a big crush on him.

Terrible, but nostalgic
Don’t know what it is about those cheesy 80’s romcoms. The story is bad the characters are ridiculous, but have watched it more than once since I was a kid.

A quirky 1980's movie that will have you laughing.
For the price it is worth the buy. It's part comedy and sometimes serious but overall most people probably don't remember this movie. I didn't but somehow stumbled on it maybe four years ago while looking for movies to buy.
