Works like a charm! WOW!
After nearly 6000 hours on my original lamp for my Viewsonic PJD7828HDL projector, the lamp finally gave it up. I tried two separate bulb+housing units; one from Amazon, and another I purchased directly from the vendor. Both units would power on, but turn off about 2 minutes later. No errors or explanation. Fearing the projector itself had gone bad, I tried one more time by purchasing the Araca bulb and installed into the original housing. It was not difficult to do at all; just patience. The bulb fit perfectly into the housing. Once I reinstalled the heat diffusers, it was ready to go. Loaded it back into the projector and PRESTO! Works just like the original. If you can turn a screwdriver, you can install this bulb. It even includes a white glove to keep any oils from your hands off the unit while installing. It is quite easy to do, and I would recommend this method before buying any of the aftermarket units you might find. I suppose on this unit, there was something specific about the original housing that the aftermarket units simply did not incorporate into the material or design. I would highly recommend. Its been about a week now, and the bulb is working great. Absolutely no issues, and the colors are brilliant as ever. Great item!!

Great product...
Thank you, Gary S. for your photos and review of the bulb, as well as with an explanation of the disassembly of the lamp, and so forth. I appreciate it. We, my wife and I, also have the Optima HD142X. Great projector. We bought the bulb for our projector, as the picture seemed to be more and more dim. Every so often, when powering the projector on, the bulb would not light up, but the projector would (the idiot light would light up.) I'm greatly pleased with the performance of this bulb, and am happy with buying it alone without the complete lamp housing. It looks awesome. Very bright. I love it. I'll update with longevity and continuing performance. Great product.

Not for Optoma HD27.
I knew buying this that it had a higher Lumen output, but did not know that the wattage was higher. This initially worked but messed with my color wheel within a couple weeks. The projector would crash after long use. For a time it'd only work with particular color settings without flickering and ultimately powered down and never fired up again after 6 weeks. I know of several people who have had similar problems buying aftermarket bulbs on Amazon. Never buy a bulb without knowing the specific stats or OEM model number. These people are grifters. It might work well in other projectors, but absolutely not for the HD27. Optoma recommends a BL-FU195C bulb/housing as a replacement, current models use a Osram PVIP bulb, but some may have the original Phillips both these bulbs have a 190/160 wattage bulb. If an ad does not give these specs it is not OEM, if the wattage doesn't match, your projector may get permanent damage or may need to replace other parts.

Bulb works great so far. Easy to remove and reinstall new bulb into lamp housing.
I have a 2018 Optoma 142x projector. Recently the warning screen indicated that the bulb life has been reached, although the unit still worked fine. I decided to replace the bulb only, as it was about half the price of buying one in a refurbished housing. I included 3 pictures, that no one had previously posted, to help one see the process and components a little more clearly. One screw on the outside of the projector secures the lamp compartment plastic cover. Unscrew and side the cover off. Than again one screw holds the metal lamp housing to the projector body. A metal wire clip also secures the lamp housing. Lastly unplug the 2 white wires from the lamp bulb. Now remove the entire lamp housing. 4 small Phillips screws hold the two lamp housing’s components together. 3 small Phillips screws with retaining clips hold the bulb to the lamp housing. Use gloves to handle the new bulb. And reverse the process. It took me about 20 minutes to complete the entire process. Also when the lamp housing was out, I used compressed air to clean the dust buildup inside, and especially the fan, that can easily be seen with the lamp housing removed. Good luck! And don’t forget to reset the lamp life hours meter.

Not as bright as the manufacturer claims...
I purchased this to replace a 2 year old bulb that was giving me lamp warnings. The bulb was still functioning but I figured for the price I might as well replace it since it was probably on it's way out.The first thing I noticed is that the bulb seems just about as bright as the 2 year old bulb I just replaced, maybe a touch brighter but not noticeable. Also, replacing the bulb in the housing is not quite as easy as many claim. This is of course not Araca's fault, it's just something I found out in the process and thought might be useful for others. The housing uses several very small Phillips head screws (think glasses repair size). One of the screws just would not come out and started to strip the head. Fortunately the bulb is held in place by 4 metal tangs and since I was able to remove the other 3, I was able to sort of twist the bulb out without having to remove the 4th.The wires on the power plug are also EXTREMELY fragile, they are very tiny and use something similar to an automotive spade terminal. I am used to plugging in those super delicate Hirose flip-lock connectors in laptops so thought I would be able to handle it no problem, but I ended up bending the connectors a bit trying to push them back onto the blade terminals on the bulb, but everything was fine, just a bit scary.

So far, so good.
Installed this new bulb a week ago. Easy to install. Good improved brightness. Much cheaper than buying the entire replacement assembly.

Worked great but I would order the color wheel also
Thought my bulb was out because it has been warning me for over a year. I replaced the bulb and still gave me a fault. The color wheel has a black mark on it to tell the unit it is spinning and is common for the mark to flake off. I replaced the color wheel and boom, back in business! For alittle extra cost I would order both if your unit is old like ours, 2013 ish?
