I loved the orginal
I loved the orginal. I've seen it so many times, and I've heard bad things about the remake. I was worried I wouldn't like it. I've seen it twice now (vhs and dvd) and I love it. Yes, it's nothing like the orginal, but I honestly don't think that stops it from being funny. Steve martin is Hilarious in this movie. I love when he's hanging from the chandelier and thinks it's perfectly sensible to talk to his neighbor's kid about restaurant recommendations. It's such a cute movie. I love how the younger kids all stick together and when fedex (mark, who is my favorite) is being picked on in school, they gang up on the bully. There are a ton of funny scenes in the movie. Tom has a chance to obtain his dream: coaching a college team he's always wanted to and has to movie his family to a new town. The kids hate the move, and it becomes worse when his wife leaves for a book tour, leaving him to watch the 12 children. The movie, while high on humor, is just as high on heart. its heart is in the right place. These kids are miserable, dad is miserable, mom thinks things are fine, and you feel for tom. He wants his dream so badly, and the kids can't see that. I really enjoyed this movie and I think it's a movie both kids and parents can enjoy.

A good family movie
I read a lot of the reviews here about this movie. Some of them were negative and it almost led me not to buy it. I am glad I did. I bought it for 2 reasons: Steve Martin and Tom Welling. After being a fan of Steve Martin for years and a new fan of Tom Welling, I wanted to see how they could pull this off. I think they did a good job. In an age where few good family movies are made, this is a good family movie.Steve Martin is the drive of this movie. When you have 12 kids to show, it is not easy to get all of them equal time but the writers and and directors seemed to handle the problem well and it is balanced. Yes, there are some times that are "busy" in this movie, but what would you expect from a family with 12 kids. The other reason I bought this was Tom Welling. This guy is growing everyday as a better actor. I hope that he will be noticed by more Hollywood execs for the talent he has and he is building. In this movie he showed that he can be funny and be the Man of Steel on TV. I think that he would have been a better choice as the new movie Superman than that other guy they hired, simply because he has more talent. I have loved Superman since I was a kid, but Superman Returns was the only movie I have watched in a theatre that made me fall asleep less than 30 minutes into it. I tried to watch it again but just couldn't, it had the same affect.Take it from a family man of three young girls. Buy the movie, get some popcorn and enjoy it. I just purchased number 2.

Nostalgic
I remember watching this movie as a kid, and you’ve gotta watch the second one too. I have a family of 6 so it felt necessary for my older kids to watch it, and of course they loved it.
