CATEYE - Velo 5 and Velo 8 Bracket/Sensor Kit

My Velo 5 sensor stopped working (after about 20 years!). I opted to buy this replacement sensor for $12 instead of spending $40-$50 for a new computer/ sensor set-up. So far, it works great. Magnet is not included, so keep your old one.

As advertised, a perfect replacement for my broken sensor mount.

Broke my Velo Cateye 5 bracket twice already when I crashed and superglue just isn't holding it anymore so I got this as a replacement. Kind of wish I can just replace the handlebar bracket since the wiring and sensor works fine. Oh well...it's cheap enough anyways.

When my old sensor seemed to stop working I found this product and saved on not having to buy a whole new computer as it seemed my computer was still working. The display went through all the various modes. About a week before getting this new sensor I had taken all the Cat eye stuff off, except the computer, including the magnet and tossed it. Well I should not have tossed the magnet! The kit does not come with a magnet! I should have looked more carefully at the product description. I pinched an old rusty magnet off my wife's bike which she doesn't ride anymore hoping it would still work and it did! Totally on me, but it would be nice if a new magnet came with the kit even if it might add a couple bucks extra. Don't hesitate to get this if you have a similar problem as mine.

Worked perfectly with my cat eye 8. I broke the Plastic square computer clip and needed a replacement. Only found it here and for only 10$. Beats 25$ or more for a whole new cyclocomputer. .

Much cheaper than buying a new computer. Since I have 4 bikes, I try to keep 2 or 3 on hand at all times.

Works for Mity 8.
