I really love this phone! It got delivered super quick, even before the scheduled date it promised.I had no problem putting my sim card from my LG G4 into this phone ( my carrier is T-Mobile) as well as a SD card for additional storage.Screen is vibrant, camera is great and overall I just really love this phone!

Unbeatable audio still a flagship phone even today.
This is a fantastic device with all flagship specs as of two years ago and it still kicks ass. The cameras are ok whats neat is some of the editing features built right into the software. The Google button is annoying and I find it useless but the audio is where this stands out lg is unbeatable in the audio plus it still has 3.5 mm jack . Can't go wrong at 150 or so.

Stay Away at All Cost, Not Considered Genuine by LG and will not be Covered Under their WARRANTY!
Stay away from this phone at all cost. I purchased it "new" or so I thought because thats what it said on amazon. I bought it unlocked for use with MetroPCS, it worked fine for about a month when I started being told by friends and family that they would try to call me and it would go straight to voicemail with no missed calls or anything on the phone. After that I went to my provider who then reset the network and later changed the sim card because the problem was still there. To tackle the issue I would have to restart my phone at least 4 times a day just so I could receive calls. A few days ago the problem worsened to the point where it started telling people my phone number was not in service. I then factory reset it twice within the same week but the problem still remained present. I then contacted LG to get a replacement phone because I was eligible for the LG 2 year warranty promise. I then found out that my phone was not new, had been manipulated by the seller, and therefore would not be covered by the warranty because it was no longer considered genuine by LG.I then contacted Amazon Support and explained what happened and was given a partial refund with a shipping label to return the phone. I was not pleased with the partial refund because it was not my fault that it was falsely advertised as new by the seller. Also just to add, with almost 2 years of owning the phone I have never once received updates, this is because LG shut down the phone for updates because it has never been considered genuine. With all the cyber security risks today, you need your phone updated regularly otherwise you'd be vulnerable to attacks and breaches to your personal info and details. Amazon customer support could have done better than the partial refund for the trouble I had to go through with the process!

Totally recommended for this price
Super happy with this product and seller.I'm usually skeptical with unlocked phones where there's a big difference in price compared to national retailers, but I was pleasantly surprised. I got this phone exactly as described: new phone, in original box complete with accessories. Arrived on time. I had no trouble inserting my old micro-SIM (from my LG G5) for immediate use. My At&t account recognized it right away. It runs smoothly, bright screen, great sound, updated software in about a day. The battery lasted about 2 days with normal use. My only issue is that I need to root it to work properly with any call recording app due to a bug in its ROM =(. I really hope LG comes out with a fix soon. But otherwise, very happy with this phone and seller. Would totally recommend.

Way better than LG G6!
This phone is an amazing upgrade from the LG G6. It's faster, the camera is one reason why I change phones. My little niece loves playing with the filters and we both have not been disappointed! I also love the battery life. My G6 would drain so fast but this V40 and all my countless notifications that comes through, I listen to music and I'm streaming TV shows on my phone all day, it outlives my Bluetooth as far as battery life goes. Such an amazing phone. It was worth every penny I spent on it!

Updated: Think 4 cores/4GB RAM is enough? Next to a V20, a refurbed V40 should be a more solid buy
Updated, after one week of use: The screen regularly goes black and is unresponsive no matter what you do to fix it. Apparently, the customer refurb process always will break the IP68 seal on the V40 making the digitizer cable weaker and develop reliability issue and making it prone to flex, even with a semi-soft case. Warning that if you buy a refurbed unlocked phone, you may inherit a V40 prone to screen issues (do a google search on the repair issues with V40).Original review: Phones have never been anything I would bother to performance test based on raw specs. After all, they are just smart appliances that age out when the plain vanilla apps auto-update, inevitably choking all of the RAM memory available and stuttering to a crawl when new app features cause it run out of active cores. Coming from the LG G5 and the identically specced V20, I watched both phones stutter running even single apps like Youtube and Nine (for Exchange). Look, app stuttering is not the worst thing (compared with boot-looping and dead touchscreens), but at one particularly slow point, I ran DevCheck and saw only two of the four cores were active, the other two read: NA in place of processor speeds. It did clear up after a reboot, but that shouldn't be there in late 2020. In addition, those wanting Google Fi's Wifi calling feature, will be disappointed that the AT&T GSM unlocked model ordered will never get Wifi calling on Fi, just like TMO unlocked phones like my V20 could not use it either. Enter the V40...I read some reviews and watched a bunch of the V40 comparision Youtubes, comparing to Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and Huawei P30 and learned that 6GB of RAM with a Snapdragon 845 is plenty for 2020. The V50 at $100 more on the used market does not add significant features for me and the V60, similarly for another $250 above the V50, added more things like an extra foldout screen but nothing significantly better. Honestly, for a phone I'm going to trade in for the next leap up, the V40 is the sweet spot in 2020. On this SD845/Adreno 630, I saw no lag on Legends of Runeterra or either Ticket to Ride, though neither uses the 3D graphics engine. The native LG Camera app is awesome for either a pro photographer or snapshot shooter, looking for more creative control with a lens/sensor for almost every normal situation, including macro, all that is missing is a way to flash sync, although there are apps that will give you manual control of the flash duration and intensity. The screen is very tall (compared with the V20) and yet they shaved a few mm's off the width, making the phone actually easier to pull from a front pocket. The 3K resolution makes a big difference too for making icons sharper and the onscreen keyboard (I much prefer GBoard over the native LG Keyboard). MS Swiftkey is OK too but better on a larger tablet for factor. One of the major differences right off the bat is call quality on my AT&T unlocked Android 9 Pie phone over Google Fi, everything just sounds cleaner, seems like the DSP and 32-bit DAC have both been upgraded. The sound from the internal speaker is a big leap up as well, with more bass response. I immediately plugged in my AKG 550's and really appreciated the much more in-depth sound stage and native tuning listening to AIMP playing some 192kbit/s Weather Report FLAC files. Just fabulous sound! With the increased processing power and RAM, you can really see the UI features improve to give you more to customize. I esp. appreciate the haptic feedback which is more effective reasonable than the annoying joy buzzer on the V20.The phone's always on display is much more customizable now that you can choose clock and notification faces, as it just makes a better overall experience when not actively in use. It's a small thing, but I find myself leaving the v40 alone rather than checking the v20 by unlocking it. Some things I miss from the V20 like the "new second screen" is really not like the notch second screen on the V20 when set to the persistent recent apps bar. I also miss the fingerprint reader doubling as power, as you have to hunt for the power button most times.Anyway, with no real shortfalls, I would say the V40 sits at the sweetspot of the Octa-core smart phones, providing a smoother more premium experience over the older v series LG handsets.
