Perfect for Montessori learning. The flocked texture of the numbers provides a great tactile experience—my child loves it!

Develops one to one correspondence and number formation with tactile feedback
I love this book and so does my 3.5 year old son. The felt numbers are very appealing and tracing them will develop his ability to write his numbers. I really appreciate that the items you count on each page are also in colored felt. It provides wonderful feedback to help with one to one correspondence. The illustrations are appealing and simple but not distracting thus helping increase focus. I will soon be purchasing The Red Letter Alphabet Book. I also have the Montessori Number Work by George/Nassner which uses sandpaper. In comparing the two, I prefer The Blue Number Counting Book by Ellen Gould. In the Gould book, the items you count are on the same page as the number you trace. In the George/Nassner book, you count items on the front of the page and then flip the page to trace the number on the back of the page. This layout might cause confusion. For example, the number 4 appears on the left page when there are 5 more items to count on the right. There is also no tactile feedback when counting items. That being said, the George/Nassner book is more durable as its a board book. The Gould book is thick highly coated cardstock. Overall, this book is a wonderful resource for developing one to one correspondence and number formation. I highly recommend it.

High-quality, worth the price for durability & visible learning
These Montessori books are fantastic. Wish I had learned to count this way. My 2.5 year old loves it and picked up quickly. Completely recommend this and the red letter alphabet book.
