step back in time repackaged with bonus tracks
There's no doubt Kylie stole the show when she performed at the legends slot in Glastonbury in the summer of 2019. A nicely timed greatest hits packaged reached number one on the uk album charts as a result. Several months later, fans are treated to a repackaged definitive hits collection, this time a 3 disc package containing some gems not included on the first package.Disc one contains 22 tracks mostly the hits from 2000 - present plus the fan fave of "your disco needs you" and a bonus track called "New York CIty" which is a dud in my opinion, but I love all the other songs on here. It's great that Timebomb is included. Such an under rated single.Disc 2 contains 20 tracks including most of her PWL hits from the 80's and early 90's and some of of her better hits from her time at deconstruction records in the mid 90s. "Breathe" makes it's debut on a kylie compilation for the first time and I do love that song. And now for the new disc 3!Eight singles omitted from the original release. "Into the blue" was the lead single off her kiss me once album. It's actually a really good pop song but didn't chart in the top 10."I was going to cancel" the 2nd single lifted from kiss me once. again, not setting the charts alight. Just scraping into the top 60. This was Kylie teaming up with Pharell Williams and it's not that good of a song. Could have easily been a left over from the rhythm of love album. But it's good to have the kiss me once album represented on a kylie compilation."Chocolate" a surprise omission from the original release. The last single to be lifted from the body language album."Did it again" did feature on ultimateKylie and is taken from the impossible princess album. A great song and iconic video."Some kind of bliss" Yes!!! taken from the same album and for the first time ever, appearing on a kylie greatest hits. A song recorded with the Manic street preachers, but a badly timed release saw this peak at #22. Her lowest charting single at the time. It's a really good song though and one of my fave kylie tracks, so i'm pleased it's on here."word is out" the lead single from kylies 4th album, Let's get to it was her 14th single but the first not to reach the top 10. I never really warmed to this song. but this era of kylie saw her release some epic b sides on her singles. which were more 90s clubby and better than the singles!"If you were with me now" another from lets get to it snubbed off the original release. The duet with Keith Washington (who???) but such a lovely song. Not really strong enough for a single but should have stayed as an album track but gave KM another top 5 hit."It's no secret" from her debut album kylie, released as a single in America where it peaked at #37 and also released in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. It was intended to be released as a 5th single from "kylie" in the uk but the success of "especially for you" put this release on ice. For a late 80s pop songs it's a good song. And finally, a megamix of some of Kylies bigger hits. Surprisingly they're 3 minute songs, some originals, some slight remix intros to form a long track, but divided into each song if you want to skip one!Sadly omitted from the compilation are 4 major singles. No "finer feelings" no "where is the feeling" - this has never appeared on an official KM GH. No "giving you up" no big loss, it was the 2nd new single from ultimateKylie. and no "better than today" then "put your hands up" from the album Aphrodite, was that released as a single or a promo? I have it on cd single. anyway that's not on here. Neither are any tracks from her "christmas" album. "santa baby has charted regularly and became Kylies 50th top 40 single. but you can't really put xmas songs on a GH album can you! Perhaps there could have been room for "only you".The Abbey road album is the only other album not represented in this package. "finer feelings" would have fitted here surely or even "flower" as that was released as a single. But alas no.Overall, 4 stars for this package. Losing out on a star for the missing singles and being a re-issue.The artwork is lazy. Only the front cover has a photo. The inner sleeves are coloured paper with just music credits. The packaging is poor too. It's the cardboard gatefold style but in a triple cd format. Upon arrival, mine already has a crease in the side gatefold which doesn't bode well for longevity. Best stored in a box. a collectors item.As far as I am aware, this is only available on compact disc and download/streaming formats. No vinyl or cassette.

Full of Kylie hits
… does not have her latest surge of even more trending hits, but a great foundational introduction to the princess of pop’s music.
