Q: Would this work on a wood bowl that is 20” dia x 7” deep weighing 10 lbs? The lip of the bowl is about 1/2”.

I'm not sure. I used it to hang a 27" diameter lightweight (much less than 1 pound) metal tray on the wall, and it works fine. But I cannot predict how it would work with the bowl you describe - I'm afraid the 4 hooks might be too small to securely hold the 1/2" lip of the bowl. Also, I'm not sure this plate wire would bear the weight of a 10-pound item. Given the low cost - less than $9.00 - it might be worth a try, if you can find a safe way to test whether it will securely hold your bowl and bear the weight. Sorry I can't give a more definitive answer. Maybe try to send the question directly to the seller?

The example shown says that the bracket starts at 15" and stretches to 30"; the brackets themselves are probably about 6-7 inches in length and about 2 inches apart.

As suggested by the product name, this plate-holder is designed to hold plates that are between 15 and 30 inches in diameter. I used it for a large, relatively flat decorative tray that measures 29" in diameter, and it works great. So, if your pie plate is 15" or more - and not very deep, I suppose this might work.
