Marcona almonds, the "Queen of Almonds," are imported from Spain. They are shorter, rounder, softer, and sweeter than the California variety. These blanched Marcona almonds are roasted in olive oil and then sprinkled with sea salt, offering a delicious taste. Marcona Almonds vs. Regular Almonds Marcona almonds are prized for being more tender, sweet, and delicate than regular almonds, with a nice buttery flavor that is due to their high oil and moisture content. California almonds have been described as tasting more "woody" in comparison. Long used in Spanish cuisine, Marcona almonds are now gaining popularity among Americans. Marcona almonds contain the same excellent health benefits as all almonds, including cholesterol-lowering monounsaturated fats. They are also an equally rich source of protein, antioxidants, iron, and calcium. Use Marcona almonds in salads, with cheeses, alongside fruit, and in desserts. The Spanish use marcona almonds in tapas and treats like turron, a tradition

You Get What You Pay For
I ordered these Marcona Almonds at the same time I ordered the Kirkland brand. We then compared them at a family cocktail hour. The differences were subtle but evident. The Kirkland almond is slightly larger and significantly saltier. The almond from the Superior Nut Company has a richer flavor. I suspect that Kirkland goes crazy with the salt to boost the flavor. I noted a reviewer complaining about getting sour nuts from Kirkland & I pretty much ignored that comment until I ate one. Now it was only one almond and the container is 3/4 empty now but it was, in fact, REALLY sour. So I suspect that the Kirkland almond is a lesser grade with less quality control. It has to be said that the Kirkland variety are much cheaper than the Superior and are still a good nut. So buy them up and hope your guests don't get the sour one - wait - you could make a game of it - The person getting the sour nut could win a prize or something. Anyway, if you're discriminating, get the Superior. If you don't think you can tell the difference and/or you're cheap, buy the Kirkland brand. Good Luck!

I did not like them at all. They were very expensive. There is a no return policy. They do not come close to the quality and taste of Kirkland Marcona almonds.
