Its water based so probably not as toxic as the spirit based dyes but I can't say its definatly not toxic I would contact the manufacturer and ask them

Q: how many coats of this to do kitchen cabinets

Hello! Usually 2 coats are enough. Some people prefer 3 coats. Please only use this stain on completely raw wood. Previously varnishes surfaces will not be good for this product unfortunately.

Q: I've have rosewood furniture which is over 60 years old, i have waxed it several times ,but its very dry and faded, would it be best to use a stain

If you want to stain your furniture you will have to remove the wax first, however there is coloured wax you could try first. Try on an area inside or at the back of piece.
