Works great for hot or cold beverages.
Good quality overall. Nothing's flimsy and the vacuum keeps hot water hot for at least 20+hours for me. I've also used it for cold water, works just as fine as long as there is ice in there. The flow is pretty good, but as the contents runs lower, I'd recommend that you poor faster and steeper so the flow can overcome the narrowness. This should prevent messes, and the flow going flat or to the sides. The cup is very robust, the outer casing is polished stainless steel and the internal and rim is a tough plastic. It'll get warm with hot beverages, but the good kind warm, it won't ever be close to be burning you but it'll keep your fingers warm on cold days. Also, the lid has a large gasket, all this talk of misalignment is operator error. The combination of the large threads with the gasket can cause to lid to close at a slant if you're pressing off to the side as you close, don't worry it won't cause a leak. The ergonomics such as the black silicone grips, silicon coated handle, and silicon bottom works great. They've been holding up well, and I'm sure they'll be great for those who wear gloves. Also, if you want to lock in the handle just push it in, with a wiggle if you want, and just pull to grab it.The outer shell is made of aluminium, steel, and a tough plastic shell than resists denting. The top segment bellow the cup, and what it screws on to is exposed aluminum, but with an anodized finish. The middle segment between the two grips is a tough plastic shell, which is has the Thermos branding on it. The thick shiny bottom is made of the same steel as the outer casing of the cup. Also, the thing is a little heavy, even after running it dry. Probably more oriented for those that operate or drive vehicles. I'd only go hiking with this or take long trips on foot if it would kill me not to.

Holy crap is this thing a trooper
I was given a different version of this thermos as a gift. Holy crap is this thing a trooper. I used it almost every day for one year during clinical rotations, and I occasionally didn't get to open it all day. The coffee would still be hot whenever I got to it.Pros:*Classy design.*Durable. This thing is a tank. It may take some cosmetic damage, but it will probably still be a good thermos after I'm a memory. Mine has been kicked, dropped, and thrown. Has a couple of dents, but still doing its job.*It will seriously keep hot coffee hot for a long time. Maybe 30 hours was the longest I ever went from coffee pot to opening the thermos, but it was still hot.*Cleans up easily.*Holds a lot more coffee than you need to drink unless a caffeine addict and you're on Emergency Duty overnight. Then it's just about right. I usually had enough to share, so that's nice.Cons:*Unless you baby this thing, the cup is going to get dented.*They don't sell replacement cups that I can find.*You'll need a scrubber on a stick to clean it inside. This seems obvious, but...*Hand wash only.I cannot tell you enough good things about this Thermos. I would absolutely buy another one if mine disappeared. The only reason I don't still use it on a daily basis is because one of the benefits of my job is all the free coffee you can drink.

best thermos I've ever owned
This is the best thermos I've ever had. I have owned 3 of them, 2 that were thermos brand and one off brand. And i can tell u right now don't even go for the off brand ones because they don't even have real metal on the inside of them, if u scrub too hard it will actually come off and it's basically like a tin foil layer and u do not want to accidentally drink that stuff. But back to my review of this thermos. Everything stays either hot or cold for 24 hours or more. It has a double stainless steel wall with a vacuum in between. Best looking thermos out there that I've seen (not those dull looking green ones). And i love the rubber grips on the side and bottom (2 on the side 1 top 1 bottom, and one underneath), that make it very easy to handle. You can't ask for more out of a thermos. The only thing i could say that i might change is how thin the metal is on the cap. I'm a craneman and i climb a 70 foot ladder multiple times a day with my thumb hooked in the handle of the thermos while i climb and it gets banged around a little bit so needless to say the cap has a few dents in it. But other than that it's perfect.

Keeps Beverage Hot, Is Bulky To Carry
This is a great thermos which will keep beverages hot for several hours. I use this thermos almost daily, to bring my own coffee to my office. I like to put 12 ounces of coffee in a Klean Canteen insulated mug, and the entire rest of a pot inside this Thermos brand beverage bottle. I work at a desk, so my work environment is entirely indoors and is heated and cooled appropriately with the seasons. Given that, this beverage bottle will keep my coffee hot and then warm for all of my work day. So it does what I want. This beverage bottle could be improved. It cannot survive a drop. While it will remain watertight, and will not leak beverage contents, dropping this container will cause the insulating properties to be totally lost and you'll have a cold coffee within the hour. I know this because I had exactly the same container (same brand and model as before) and dropped it accidentally. This review is for the container that replaced the dropped item. The beverage bottle is very bulky and heavy to carry. I remove the outer cup and never bring it with me -- just the inner screw-down cap on the bottle is sufficient because I almost always pour the contents into my much-loved Klean Kanteen mug. If only there were some way to sling this container over my shoulder or back, it would be easier to carry. With that said -- this container is on my must-have list of things to bring to the office.
