This works
I am so surprised how much longer the bread last after using this bread box. I used the top shelf for a while, then decided we like no upper shelf. We use the shelf as a bread board. We slide it under the bread box.

A Good Choice if you don’t mind assembling 👍
The media could not be loaded. This was my second choice after I ordered and returned a very similar but different brand of bread box that arrived with bad packaging and broken pieces 😒 Lots of good padding in this box and nothing broken or missing ✅; instructions were simple to follow (took me about 20 minutes to assemble) ✅; all the pieces fit together as they should ✅; the interior is spacious ✅; upper shelf has two height options ✅; the door slides well and the unit feels sturdy ✅. The only negative is that because the bamboo is a very firm wood, it required some good and steady strength to get the screws all the way in - especially the last 1/4” or so. My only assembly tip is to use a better screwdriver with a beefier handle, if you have one. I initially tried the one included in the box and it felt like it might strip the screws because, as mentioned, the screws get a bit tough to turn and the handle is wimpy. Made a small mod by adding bumpers to the four bottom corners, to keep it from sliding around and add a tiny bit of height. We normally have anywhere from 2-4 bread products on our counter but LOL, on this particular day we only had one. Happy to have counters that are little more tidy. This purchase feels like a winner and that the product will live up to the price. It was even a few bucks less that the first broken one that I returned, and that’s #winning too ☺️

Nice looking but door does stick
Been using this product for a few weeks now, and the door does get stuck. I had to reattach the little handle as it was coming loose from the force used to open. Fits nicely in my Small kitchen.

Initially....don't over tighten the set screws.
Value for the money is very good. I realize that the back panel is a sturdy cardboard material rather than wood, but it is substantial enough. As far as assembly....I'm a 73 year old lady who has put together her share of "easy to assemble" furniture, etc. This was not that difficult....took about 20 minutes. I did forget to put in the 2 wooden dowels, but the final assembly was fine....no problems sliding the door up and down. But it is important to remember that during assembly process, do not over tighten the screws until all is put together. Then...just tighten them snuggly at the end and you should have no problems. This is a very nice product for the money....it's not one of those fancy hand made beauties that cost upwards of $300+, but it is serviceable and looks quite nice.

Knob was broken off on arrival
When I received the package, the knob on the door was broken off. My husband tried to fix it with a strong glue, but the knob was slightly damaged and it wouldn't work. We had to go to Home Depot to get another knob and screw to fix it. We put the metal studs that hold the shelf into the sides of the box before putting the box together as we had to hammer them a little to get them in. We had to wax the track for the door to get it to move more smoothly. We should have applied the wax to the track before putting it together, also, so you can lubricate the whole track without missing a part that you can't reach. Also, make sure that you don't put anything too far back in the box or you won't be able to open the door all the way as it will hit the object. It does serve the purpose for which I bought it, though.

Everything I wanted from a bread box!
I spent a few days, on and off, looking for the best possible bread box that doesn't seem too expensive. Finally, I settled for this one because it has 2 shelves, and I was willing to spend an extra $10 to save space. I only had it for less than an hour, so I can't say much about what it how well it keeps bread from going bad, but everything else is perfect! It took me about 20 minutes to assemble it. Usually I leave that kind of stuff to my boyfriend, but he was busy and I was too excited to wait. So I actually did it myself, and had a good time doing it too. The directions seemed confusing at first, but I studied them for 5 minutes and everything became clear as ice. So that part is nothing to worry about. The rest of the pros should be visible from my pictures. It is spacious, but doesn't take up too much space. It is big enough to fit about 4-5 loaves of bread. It looks nice, and the roller slides up and down effortlessly, but you can also stop it at any point you want, and it doesn't drop down.I think it was a great buy for the price, and in general :)

Shoddily made stay away!
We purchased another similar bread box earlier this year and wanted another, which was unavailable so we ordered this brand instead. This one is nothing like the old one it is shoddily made, and the retracting lid does not work smoothly at all. In fact, the handle for the retracting cover is threaded so you can’t attach it securely. We are immediately sending this one back

Extra storage for bread
The bread box arrived unassembled in a flat package. Putting it together was easy and all tools were provided. The rolling door was a little tight and some issues going up and down. So I pulled the beeswax out of my sewing box and my husband used it to lubricate the track. Worked like a charm! Slides with no problem now. It is slightly smaller than my other bread box, but still comfortably fits a full loaf of bread. I use the other shelf for medicine. That way it is close by but not seen by visitors (NO kids or pets in my home).
