Good value for the hobbyist machinist
Made well enough for a hobbyist machinist such as myself, especially for the cost.

Nice drill chuck
Works perfect on my lathe tail stock. Good quality for the price.

Package and shipping issues
Nice product.Heavy product real lightweight box, not taped shut. Then put in a lightweight plastic bubble pack bag. Heavy steel product comes out the light box, then the spindle poked a hole in the base and lost between there and here, ofcourse a new one was shipped the same way, but was lucky the second the. Very inconvenient fir me, because of improperly packing the product for shipping.

Impressed for the money
I'm a woodworker, so do not need machinist tolerances, but as close as possible is a nice to have. My Nova Viking was not running true, to the point that drilling with a 20mm forstener bit would cause so much friction that the chuck fell off. This solved my problem. I gave it a good clean with alcohol then was pleasantly surprised to see run out within 2-3 thou, better than the advertised tolerance. I would have liked it if the minimum bit was smaller than 1/8", but I'm not sure I can remember ever using a bit that small in my drill press anyway, so better to have a chuck with low runout. Would recommend.

Great value and fits Porter Cable PCB660DP
The stock chuck in my Porter Cable PCB660DP was never that great to begin with (runout) and over the years started clamping unevenly. I worked around it by unclamping/reclamping the bit and it was good enough for woodworking. Lately I've gotten into metal working and need a DP with mill-like accuracy. A relatively cheap, big-box store drill press isn't a mill and has a lot more driveline slop.Bought this chuck and arbor combo based on the reviews, to just replace the entire stock assembly and it was a good gamble. Arbor comes packed in it's own hard plastic sleeve and the chuck well-greased up in a plastic bag. Quality of both is very good. Surfaces are clean, smooth and free of tooling marks. The chuck is a little stiff to open/close, but it will loosen up with use.Overall, I think this is a great value.

Solid chuck. Taper fit holds tight. Drill bits didn't slip.
I bought the 1/2" chuck with R8 shank to use on a Bridgeport mill. I'm using this in a low use application, not a production shop. It smoothly opens and closes across the range. I didn't notice any issues seating the tapered shank. I degreased the mating chuck taper and shank taper. I then deburred both tapers with fine stones (this probably wasn't necessary). I warmed up the chuck in the oven and put the shank in the freezer. I put the two together and quickly gave it a whack with a lead hammer. I drilled some 1/4" holes in aluminum and cold rolled steel so far. I spot drilled first with a collet and then drilled with the chuck. The old mill held under 0.002" on size, and location between holes. No complaints so far. I'll update this review if something comes up. So far I'm happy I took a chance on this affordable option.

Hold that but
I use this on my wood lathe, holds bits well, and as intended

Key wrench and chuck teeth rough
Chuck turns smoothly by hand, but when using key have to rock back and forth. It appears that key is not fitting the chucks andteeth on chuck are rough. My old key works better but is still not smooth. Poor workmanship on chuck teeth and key. Chuck does grip tight and appears to be fairly accurate. Would give it a five if smooth operation.
