I am having issues with this phone booting. For some reason this phone was flashed on the NVRAM up to 2010 and I can not get the phone to flash up to 2015 MITEL settings.

They fail constantly

We've had these phones for quite a few years now. They seem to do the job OK but we do lose a lot of them. They constantly end up searching for DHCP and at that point we have to send them back to get reprogrammed. It costs about as much for a new one as it does to reprogram them. We lose them usually when we have to move them or disconnect them from the RJ-45 cable. After we plug them back in, we usually lose about half of them. Due to that, we don't move them much. Besides that, they occaisionally will start acting up by not displaying some things on the screen or the light will keep flashing indicating voice mail when there isn't any. Sometimes the headset will fail too. We are searching for a new type of phone at my work. Personally, these aren't very good in my opinion. When they are working, they are an OK phone but they seem fragile especially when moving them.

Deal of the century

These Mitel phones cannot be found for less anywhere else on the internet. Arrived in perfect condition and I would love to purchase 10 more at this price!

Agree, these are working products

We have about 36 Rev E models, and I just purchased another 5 used with a mix of Rev B and C and all say made in China. We have had the E's for over a year now. The only problems I've ever had with the phones not getting DHCP turned out to be a faulty cable I re-punched down and things were fixed. The amount of problems one of the previous posters experienced, I would estimate there are other problems going on such as not having Option 43 setup correctly in DHCP, issues with the DHCP server, and or their onsite wiring deployment had issues. These are POE so it doesn't take much to create problems if your wiring is compromised anywhere whereas a LAN without POE may be more forgiving. All equipment will have duds within some ratio, but at some point you have to start troubleshooting elsewhere. These are good phones in my experience and I have used some midrange equipment from Toshiba Strata to low end Comdial PBX phones. I have had few problems moving phones/extensions, unplugging and replugging them in related to the phone set itself. If a phone ever had a problem not getting DHCP, I just unplugged and re-plugged it back in and it was good. They don't need to be "Re-programmed" unless you are trying to change them to a static IP. Have also mixed 5212 and 5224's into the same system, no problems.

Not as bad as reported

As a reseller of Mitel products, and having worked on them for fourteen years, I think the above review is a little unfair, I see any requests from our very large customer base for replacement phones, rarely do I get them, 5330's are not fragile, no more so than the competition. When I have installed about three hundred on one site a couple of years ago, I did have a couple of duffers, as they were new, obviously changed out under warranty.I will say the quality did deteriorate when Mitel started manufacturing in China instead of the previously Canadian built models, but as every manufacturer now seems to do this, not sure what you may wish to draw from that.
