OttLite B84J36 Plug In Swirl Compact Light Bulb 13 Watt Replacement Type K High Definition Natural Lighting Self-Ballasted Bulb

I have been using the OTT-LITE at my laptop computor for past 3 years. It's the perfect light for this use. I needed a replactment bulb. Went back to where I purchased for a bulb and they did not carry any more. Checked with Amazon and found the perfect replacement bulb. It works fine and could not be happyier. The bulbs arrived bubble rapped in perfect condition and within several days. Very satified, good price. Would order again when I meed a new bulb.

I thought it would be easy to replace a bulb in a bew Ottlite, but this one has the wrong base. Expensive, took forever to arrive, and then didn't fit. Blech.

Bought my wife a magnifying desk lamp a few years ago to assist her with handwork. Finally original bulb burnt out this spring. Low and behold when I went to replace it it didn't unscrew but unpligged with two small prongs. Could not find a replacement at manufacture's site but found it on Amazon. Works great with quick delivery.

I never would've purchased the Ott-Lite lamp I own if I'd known the replacement bulbs were SO EXPENSIVE! The 13-watt Plug in Swirl bulb lists for over $20 (guaranteed for 1 year with proof of purchase). At one time my local Joann Craft Store stocked this bulb and it was possible to use one of the store's frequently issued 40% off coupons to obtain a replacement bulb. But Joann's no longer stocks this Plug In Swirl replacement Ott-Lite bulb; it appears that Ott-Lite has redesigned many of its bulbs and this wattage plug-in type is no longer as commonly used as it once was. (I couldn't find a replacement in the Albany, NY area although two stores locally used to stock the Plug In Swirl bulb.) New Ott-Lites appear to have a screw-in type bulb. Unfortunately, all the Ott-Lite lamps require their own special bulbs and I've not found any company making generic replacements. That said, I like the lamp I have (which was also fairly expensive and only bought for its appearance and not for any special vision problem) but the replacement bulbs are more than a little costly.

Port lightbulbs provide the most amazing viewing ability. The light they emit is like a ray of sunshine.

I purchased a lamp at Costco years ago that used this bulb. It finally gave up the ghost, and I had to have a replacement.Fits perfectly, but it hurt shelling out the bucks for it. I know they are better in the long run, though.

I was unable to find a replacement bulb in local stores, so when I found a source online that was great news. I placed the order and received the replacement bulb very quickly. I could not see the stem of the bulb while it was in the package so I had to remove it, when I did I discovered that it would not fit in my lamp even though it was the replacement bulb specified to replace the original"OTT-LITE" light bulb. I was putting it back in the package to send it back when I read the fine print on the packing slip telling me that the product could be returned no problem (if it had not been removed from the package). So I have a light bulb that cost me in excess of $18.00 including S&H, it does not fit in the lamp I needed it for nor does it fit in any other fixtures in my house.
