4 Pounds of Sushi Grade Yellowfin Ahi Tuna

I have never written a review, so take that for what it's worth, but I feel compelled to offer praise for this vendor. Using this tuna, I made tuna tar tar, spicy tuna sushi (in rice) and sashimi (in cucumber), tuna sashimi, tuna crudo, tuna poke, spicy tuna roll, tekkamaki, and tuna avocado roll. All was served family style and fed 8 adults. There was essentially zero waste and the tuna arrived as advertised - in one 4 lb loin. I prepared the tuna the day it arrived by cutting the loin down into the various pieces I would want to work with and then wrapping those pieces tight in cellophane and putting it in the fridge. On the next evening, I cut those pieces into the sushi you see in the pictures and made rolls from it as well. I am NOT a professional chef, just home trained (via practice) sushi aficionado who makes rolls for friends/family.

The package arrived in a timely manner, however, the packaging was obviously done by someone who does not care about quality product arriving to the purchaser. I open the cardboard box to find a styrofoam ice chest with the lid ajar due to bubble wrap between the lid and the chest. The fish was barely cool to the touch let alone cold. I don’t know if I am brave enough to now use this tuna to make sushi.

Pretty amazing quality for the price. Very happy. Nice treat. Big hit at the house.

I have graded Ahi tuna during my seafood carrier, this is not number one grade at all!!! With the metallic color of the meat, softness of the product, and flavor this is not fresh product. It did not arrive in one 4 pound chunk cut from one loin, it wasn't even from the same fish. Three pieces could be from one fish but the forth was from a smaller fish.You wont see me back for this product. Don't mind paying for what I ordered if it's right.

This is not a sushi grade tuna. Just a normal steak tuna.. The image is misleading and failed to state it is steak and not a 4 pound block. and for $31 per pound, it's a a rip off.
