Fundamentals of Momentum, Heat, and Mass Transfer

Needed this for class and this order was suitable for this purpose. As a result, I give this product 5 stars. However, I am not really a fan of the technical writing seen in this textbook. So, be aware of that.

This book is an unreliable, poor quality, unacceptable excuse for a heat and mass textbook. In the chapters used so far for our Heat and Mass Transfer course (chapters 15-22), there have been countless mistakes, incorrect formulas and fundamental equations, and errors in examples. Do not buy this book! It is a waste of money and will teach you the wrong material. In fact, stay away from all textbook publications from Wiley if possible. They are not reliable.The professor of my class has found these mistakes and errors and compared them to multiple reputable sources and the equations and examples in this book are undeniably wrong.Stay away from this book and Wiley publishing! They rush shoddy books to the market and students suffer because of it.I sent an email to the Wiley representative asking for a refund. This is the response I got:"If you have a receipt from Wiley, please provide it and I will work on providing you with a refund. If you didn't purchase this book from Wiley (i.e. Amazon, your campus bookstore, etc), please work with the source from which you purchased it for a refund."I should not be responsible for the inferiority of this book. As a college student, I never buy directly from the publisher because they mark up their prices compared to college bookstores or Amazon. I should not have to track down someone else to fix Wiley's mistakes. This is ridiculous. Wiley should stand by their book, accept that they made a mistake, and correct it, not hide behind some excuse that they can't offer a refund.I am a very unsatisfied customer. This heat and mass book was lovely. I really liked it. The examples were wonderful. There were a few typos but if you know what you're doing (or have a professor that cares), they aren't too easy to spot.

Book for lecture.

The info in this book is great for after school.

It's a good book it has a lot of problems and equations used but it does not have very many useful example problems for those very intensive problems.

Great book

I have to agree with the other reviews, this book is terrible. In the first chapter there is already a mistake. There is a negative sign missing in the bulk modulus formula. But the mistakes are not what makes this book so bad. The main problem with the book is they barely write anything about the subjects. Each chapter is like four pages long and half of that is filed with convoluted equations with no explanation. The exercises at the end of the chapters will leave you scratching your head as there is nothing in the chapter that will help you solve them. This is especially frustrating for me because my professor assigns homework problems from the book.Reading this book feels like some guy in a rush to leave is quickly explaining fluid mechanics to you in 5 minutes so he can go home.
