Who Doesn't Love a Colorful Cat?
This is a very nice paint-by-numbers kit and includes everything you need to complete it. The colors are very vibrant and appealing. It definitely brightens up a room. It's very detailed, so I'm not sure it's right for a beginner. In fact you might need a magnifying glass for some of the smaller sections. But the final result is worth it. Highly recommended.

Fun…. But beware, you will do it for hours
I loved the outcome of both of these paint by number canvasses. Really cute, brings everything you need. Great for a stay-in-date-night. Although the paints SEEM small, they actually last and cover the entire picture. BUT………… be sure to have Plenty of time to complete this. The numbers are small and so are the areas to color so it requires a lot of patience, but well worth it.

So much fun, frame-able piece!
A story... I’ve been trying to square away some time to listen to podcasts, I happened to order this painting because I saw it on some website and wanted to paint it for my mom. One lazy Saturday I decided to give the painting a go and put on some true crime podcast, fast forward 6 hours and I have had a most amazing time binging a whole podcast series, and having “brain flow.” I haven’t had that much fun concentration in a long time, it felt wonderful. The art itself is very lovely, I’ll have to go over a few of the colors a few times to obscure some numbers, but only with the light colors. I need to find how to frame this, it’s totally frame worthy. The paint is nice and thick, although I did purchase another set of brushes to keep better in the lines. Super great value for what it gave me, I stretched out painting it on Sundays while listening to different podcasts over an entire month, so much fun, I ordered another.

Relaxing and fun
I have been working on this painting for the past 3 weeks or so every other for about 1-2 hours each. I am almost done with it---I'm working on the black outline, as you can see in the picture.I am not a painter, so I had to learn how to handle brushes, paints, and ... water (is that weird?) along the way. Some of my thoughts and lessons I learned along the way:- This isn't oil paint. It's definitely acrylic although the box doesn't say so. Oil paints would be much more difficult to handle (not water soluable and what not, you know), so I'm happy that it's acrylic. I think it's called "oil painting" because most of the paintings that these kits are generated from are oil paints. So instead of achieving shades and contouring by the thickness of the oil paint on canvas, you are doing it by painting itty bitty spaces with varying shades of the same color. It's clever, it seems.- I ENTIRELY agree with all the reviews that say you need better brushes. I'm not a painter so I thought my inability to stay cleanly in line was just lack of experience. Well, it IS that, but the brush you use, it turns out, has A LOT to do with it. Buying better brushes (I got a set of detail brushes 5 for 10 bucks) helped me to not just produce better lines, but also helped me improve my skill.- All recommendations say to finish the same color, wash the brush, proceed to next. I noticed that if I did this, the paint already on the brush would dry up and would make the painting process difficult. Worse, it would make cleaning the brush a royal pain. It could just be I'm a slow painter, and if you were fast paint wouldn't dry so fast. Anyway, after trying several things, I ended up alternating between two brushes, making sure they were clean whenever they started feeling a little dry.- If you are brand new, start with the biggest patch you can find but stay away from edges and get used to painting the middles first. I made the mistake of going with the smallest patch first. That was a bad call... but thankfully I picked a pale yellow, which was easy to fix by painting over the overflow with darker neighbors.- I picked this thinking that it would be easier than some of the more complex paintings. I was right, but I think, having done this, the painting of the colorful cat would be easiest to work on.- I had enough paint to paint everything. I have enough to finish black outlines too. Some annoyances regarding the kit itself:- Along with the fully colored mini picture, a paper version of the canvas is usually included with the canvas in the set. MY set that paper version didn't match canvas, which meant that I didn't have reference page that I could refer to. So if that's what happens to you, take a photo of your canvas before you start, so that, say, if you cover up a patch with a color (number is occluded) and then you mistakenly swipe over it with another color, you know which color to use to fix the problem.- Creases doesn't come out as easily as others make it out to be. Next time I think I'm going to iron the whole thing up so that I don't have creases to paint over.- Lighter the color is, the harder it is to cover up the number. In some cases 3-4 layers are still not enough to get rid of the number. Not sure what the best solution is...All in all, I am enjoying this. And I'm glad I got this for myself!

Canvas folded and creased
the way the canvas is folded in shipping leading to creases in the final product. I believe if the product was rolled with a cardboard tube it might be better. I ordered the wolf and lion both are the same. I am going to hang the second one in the shower in attept to steam it flat after putting books on it. Will update if it turns out better. Everything else in the kit was perfect. I still would recommend it.

Just a piece of canvas.
This isn't a mounted piece of canvas. It's pretty useless unless it's mounted.
