Tambour Door & Track Sets Frameless 15" Red Oak

So I have a corner garage in my kitchen that is not a separate unit from the corner cabinet above it but actually part of the cabinet so taking the garage out and installing this door was not an option for me. The original garage had broken plastic tracks and the spring was off, along with the front having some damage, caused me to look for a replacement.So I came across this unit and, while a bit expensive, I went for it since the size was right. Once it came in I trimmed it down using the old one as my guide and proceeded to reinstall it into the corner garage (remember, while still installed as part of the corner cabinet). The hardest part was working my way into the garage to install the tracks and garage door itself after I had set the spring tension (and was holding it in place with lock pliers). It was a pain in the a55 working all of this into place backwards as I was outside the garage installing this inside the garage.At the end of the day it probably took me a total of 2 hours to remove and reinstall, start to finish. It would have been a lot easier if there was a better install method but with having to keep the tension on the spring there really is only 1 way to do it.The unit itself was of high quality and from the parts included it looks like it was manufactured by the same company as the original.

This was a maddening project that I finally gave up on. The roll up spring mechanism is terrible and the tracks are cheap plastic. The wooden door is sturdy and well made. But the rest of the system is terrible.

I've had this particular door in my kitchen for a few years now and it has held up great! Pretty easy to install and the red oak matched the oak I used on the cupboards.

Plastic is very flimsy. Wood is nice. Hope it lasts..
