Beginning C#7 Review - I Love It
I like, as a fact, I've always liked the Beginning series of these books as they teach you by giving you what you need, then, by entering the code and seeing it run for you to get a feel for what it does, and how to do it. This is very important to me as I'm the kind of person that learns by doing. The book goes into great depth to teach you all the basics of the language, and of the other parts of the system needed to gain a thorough understanding of how it works. That being said, please understand that some of the topics are covered in great detail, while other technologies are only briefly touched upon. Yes, they do give you a basic understanding of things like: Entity Framework, Data Access, ASP and ASP.Net MVC and Core. These technologies are so in-depth that they require separate books to understand, else if included in this book, the book would be a 25 pound book of such size to make it daunting at best to learn. The book covers all of the C# 7 language and enhancements which is a good thing.Enjoy learning and remember, when you're done with this book, then you can begin to learn deeper technologies.

Well Written book
I been writing in C# for a while I picked this up to work on my object oriented programming. It goes from basics to more advanced stuff. Only thing that i would like to see is a little more on the overview. Like the implications of creating structures over classes. That can cause issue if you are nesting. I came across this playing with different techniques seeing how they effected a property grid in WPF. And found i cant nest a structure. If you can i did not see the method in here. But overall it is a nice book that is quite detailed.

Four Stars
How to work in the Visual Studio environment.

Clear prose
I'm finding this book easier to read than the book that was used by my professor. The author lets you know if a section is for experienced vs beginner programmers. It shows Visual Studio as well as C#.

Great explanations but contains typos in code examples and exercises
The book does a good job of explaining each of the exercises. However, I've found a few typos already and I'm just up to Ch05Ex05. On the bright side, troubleshooting the exercises makes one better. Proof reading the book would've helped prior to release. Also, it would've been nice if this was available on PDF rather than on Kindle format. The sluggish Kindle app is not a good platform for any text book.minus two stars for the errors and it being on Kindle.

Highly recommended if you are learning C# but already have some basic programming background. Some concepts may be difficult to get if you are learning how to program from scratch using this book.

Got this for my son who's learning to code
He's done Khan Academy, Scratch, Tinker etc. and I decided it's time for him to be a "real programmer". He's 11 BTW but has been coding for 4 years. he is really doing well with it and I think it was a great choice.
