Best 15 dollars I ever spent
The media could not be loaded. So I have a GSD, she is about 65 pounds, who I hated walking. It was stressful, she would pull so hard she would be choking, my arm felt like it was going to be pulled out of its socket, my hand would be red from holding the leash and trying to keep her from pulling. I tried switching her to a harness to see if that would help her so she wouldn’t choke and maybe she wouldn’t pull. I was wrong. I started looking for an answer to help so she wouldn’t pull. I found the gentle leader and ordered it after reading reviews. I was nervous she would break it since that seemed to be an issue from previous reviews but i had nothing to lose. When i got the gentle leader i followed the instructions and trained her with it. After training her for a week i took her on a walk. It was like walking a completely different dog. She tried to pull a couple times but it would just turn her around and make her face me. She pawed at it a few times at first but adjusted quickly. Now walking her is a dream, stress free for both of us. It hasn’t left any chafe marks or anything the only thing is there is an indentation in her fur along the top of her snout after long walks but that goes away after a little bit. Besides that it’s great she can pant, drink water, and even eat (part of the training instruction is to have it on them during meal time and give them treats) with it on no problem. I’ve had the gentle leader about a year now and I love it, even if it breaks i will get another one it was definitely worth the money. I recommend it to all my friends who have dogs that pull.

Don't Give Up If Your Dog Doesn't Take To It At First
When I first tried this on my dog, she did nothing but rub her nose and have a fit trying to get it off. I spent about a week, putting in on her for short periods, giving her treats, trying to make this leader associated with positive experiences. It just seemed like it wasn't going to work for her so I set it aside.Last week, I got it out again, put it on her, gave her a treat, and immediately took her outside for a walk. It worked! This time she accepted it. Other than a moment here and there, she is doing great with this and no more pulling. It's like walking a completely different dog.I should add, that I had skipped her walk for almost two weeks (a very long time for her). She had gotten to the point that her front-clip harness wasn't a deterrent anymore, so I thought I'd just take a break. After not going for her daily outings for so long, she was more than happy to mostly ignore the gentle leader and focus on smelling all the great things she'd been missing out on.Now we are back to our daily walks. The biggest difference being that I am having fun on the walk too, now that I don't have to spend so much energy working on her behavior. I do still put a harness on her in case I need to grab it for additional control (which is rare) but I only attach the leash to the head lead. I have a leash with a lighter clip on it for that. The leash clip that attaches to the harness is much thicker and heavier. All I can say is .... Gentle Leader for the win-win!!SAFETY TIP UPDATE: A couple times, I've had near-escape incidences, both indoors at the vets office thankfully. Once, the leash somehow became unclipped and another, she pulled the lead off her face. Now, to ensure a double-attachment, I put the leader on as usual, then I use a carabiner to secure the base of the leash clip to the loop in her collar. This way, should she get the leader off again or the leash become unclipped, the leash will still be connected to her collar. (see attached photo showing left/right side comparisons showing both parts of what I've described)I find that this setup does not cause any issues while walking nor stop the effectiveness of the leader.

Best money I've spent all year.
The media could not be loaded. I buy everything except groceries off amazon. I have also never left a review. I think this product is lifechanging enough to warrant a review. I have now had this headcollar for exactly a week. I watched several videos on it to get the fitting right. The fitting is important- it will not work as well if not fitted tightly as instructed. I waited two days to use it on walks. Just getting her used to it keeping it on while she ate all meals and giving her tons of treats. Dogs won't like a strap across their face. But you can teach them that the headcollar means they get to go out and they don't mind it. I have a one year old pit bull and I had stopped walking her (she used to get 3 mile walks every day) in favor of driving her to the dog park bc her pulling was so terrible. The last straw was when I took her hiking and couldn't enjoy the scenery bc she was pulling so much for five miles straight. My bfs dog, also a terrible puller, had success with the gentle leader. I took him for a walk to test it out and it was amazing. I immediately ordered one for my dog. Within five mins of using it I could tell it was a godsend. I like to say that walking my dog with the gentle leader on is like walking a cloud. You know the cloud is there bc of the occasional light tension from direction change but otherwise my dog just floats along. It feels like you're walking a show dog or something. If you don't enjoy walking your dog, buy this headcollar. I used to have to wrap the leash around my forearm and then under my armpit and over my shoulder to leverage my weight against her pulling. Now I can walk her with my pinky finger while carrying a coffee in the same hand and texting with the other hand. My brother also has this product but doesn't like it because "it didn't train the dog not to pull when it's not on". This product is not supposed to replace training, it just makes it a lot easier to enjoy time with your dog. Best money I've spent this year. Just buy it. As you can see from the video, there is slight slack in the leash (you won't want too much slack or the dog can step over it and get tangled bc it hangs from under the chin). This is the first time I've ever had slack in a leash while walking my dog. Also, the material stretches when brand new. So readjust a few days later after using for walks for the perfect, permanent fit.

It seems to work but the collar needs a keeper for the excess length.
My dog first tried to remove the head collar by any means but once we set off on a walk he accepted it and the difference in his behaviour was remarkable. He no longer pulls! However, the neck collar does need a keeper to tidy up the excess length. My dog is not fully grown so I do not want to cut off the excess but having it hanging down is untidy and is a distraction for my dog. With the wet and muddy walks we have been having to take of late it will also get filthy. There is definitely room for improvement.

Good product
Great product! The part over the nose fits our Labrador cross golden retriever perfectly but the part around the neck when tightened has lots of extra fabric hanging which has to be tied or tucked around so it doesn’t dangle down and annoy her .

Take care doing up the buckle.
Didn’t realise this had to come from U.S.A. so took a while to arrive. Works moderately well. The click buckle at the neck jammed closed and had to be forced open to release the dog. This broke the buckle, but managed to replace it with alternative buckle.

Best collar ever!
The media could not be loaded. Tried this collar on two of my dogs that pull hard and it has completely stopped them from pulling. Honestly I have tried every collar known to man and this is the one that has worked the best so far! 10000% would recommend to anyone it makes walking so much better.
