a great guide to a great pedal
The DigiTech Solo XT is still an excellent looper. I used to think it's biggest drawback is it could use some real drum effects but after some use the included drum beats (metronome really) are enough. You can go to YouTube for instructions and even at that Rich Menga's videos are probably the best but for me this book works better than the videos. It's really well written with simplified instructions and easy to follow. Plus the book is right-sized with a good font and size. The book is also well made - I've turned back every page and the binding is holding well.I wouldn't recommend getting a lesser looper than the Solo XT and if I wanted to go up a step better I'd check out the Boss RC-10R. The 10R has full drum effects and is good for writing songs on an electric guitar.Like Rich says - there's so much more to the Solo XT that your first look. This book helps you get everything out of it. A solid 5 stars.

Helpful and concise.
This is more a supplement to the manuf manual than a replacement. That said, it does cover some alternate topics as well as clarify/simplify some of the instructions that came with the unit. Worth the money..

Will get you up and running quickly!
This is my first looper beyond a simple 1 track looper. I fired it up and followed the quick start guide but was discouraged in about 30 seconds when the carnival came to town and every light on it was lit up. Jumped on here and got the kindle version and was very glad I did. This guide is short and concise but by no means all inclusive. It will get you up and running and knowing about 85% of all you will ever need to know in about an hour. Then go back and reference the manual. It will make much more sense.

Lacking what it claims
I was under the impression this would be a far better detailed version of the manual with easier to understand instructions. It is just as vague in its steps, and leaves just as much for you to figure out on your own. Maybe more so than the actual manual. It only covers what the Author wanted to cover. Not the entire pedal. A lot of valuable features were not even brought up. If you just need a quick start it "might" help you, If you are going to print something I recommend the manual itself, save your money.

Now I can use the pedal
I wish these instructions had come with the pedal. Now I know how to do the live looping feature step by step.

Rick is rite
Rick has written a much more readable and understandable than the original manual from Digitech. I read the whole thing in a short period and had my pedal working in no time at all.

Excellent Manual Supplement, Thank You
This is a very helpful supplement to the product manual, both for understanding the device and as an introduction to the basics of looping. Thank you.

Overpriced! Overpriced! Overpriced!
Well it's short, concise, and simple, but hardly worth the $11.99 I paid for it. No illustrations, no page numbering, no index, just a very bare bones description of how to use the device. Maybe if you were overwhelmed by the complexity of this unit and were looking for a simplified approach to learning how to use it, this might be helpful, but even then it should probably be priced at about $4-$5 at most. I don't agree much with any of the other reviews of this book here on Amazon, and would recommend looking over the manual that comes with the JamMan Solo XT and maybe watching a few videos out on YouTube before you consider buying this book. Let the buyer be ware.
