When to eat and what to eat
This is a very good book, although it has no recipes only when to eat. It promotes vegetarian eating which I'm not a fan of. But it show when you eat what happens. Also drink lots of water each day to fill you up. I liked the book as I don't know when to eat or what. This book helped me to sort out my priorities and why you eat early rather than later. Thank you AMAZON

Easy to follow tips on how to make important, sustainable changes to how you eat.
This book is more than just another handbook for some trendy fad diet. It summarizes the latest research in an entertaining fashion and easy-to-read format on how to eat better and help people lose weight, without making drastic changes in their lives. It’s a much easier approach to stick with in the long term, so I think that’s why many people will find that this is something that is much more simple to follow for the rest of their lives rather than a drastic change for a few months (and then return back to their old eating habits).I see that one of the criticisms from others is that it’s a rather simple book that might point out obvious things... yet these are things that most people do not practice in their daily lives. So I think that there are lot of people who could benefit from the book. As a physician, I will definitely bring up these important eating recommendations to my patients in my OB/GYN practice. One of the best eating instruction books I have read in a long time. I highly recommend it.

Good information
Easy read, good information and makes sense. The problem as a consumer is that you always hear conflicting advice on what to eat and when. For example some say fruit is bad because of the sugar, but others laud the antioxidants and nutrient density of some fruit. I do like the recommendations

Rehash of what's out there
People who have never read a weight loss book may find this helpful. It explains a lot of the information that has been around for 5 years or so. Plant Paradox, Healthy Gut. A lot of overlap. Not sure if this wouldn't make the evening family dinner less fun as it is so different in many respects. Lots of people eat dinner left overs for breakfast so they will be happy. I enjoy the ritual of a nice family dinner and have back ground in heath professions.

What makes this book different
This book offers exactly what the title promises. What to eat. When to eat it. Many readers will have some or part of the model "under their belts" already. My family has the "what" part down pretty well. The timing of food intake is an emerging body of science. The "when" part, as the authors acknowledge in sharing their personal experiences, it going to take adjustment. The book offers a plan for gradual changes. What makes this book different? References! The peer-reviewed journal articles are referenced in the book. I want the science to support making radical lifestyle changes. This isn't the opinion two admittedly engaging physicians, this is both new and old knowledge presented in an easy to read and reference format.I'm puzzled by the scattered poor reviews. Readers criticized the book for old information (mostly the "what" part) and ignored the important modifications of new information or criticized the book because it didn't meet their individual expectation of wanting a short term prescription of menus. This is about lifestyle. Please don't let those reviews mislead you. I'm going to recommend this book to my patients.

Good Informantion, Lost 9 lbs so far!
The information is really well put together and sound. I like the explanations provided for each recommendation and makes it pretty easy to follow. I've already lost 9 lbs in 2 weeks just through diet alone (haven't weighed myself this week yet). Gonna add in some exercise later as I have a leg injury right now. I think this book is a great combination of old and new information that pretty much uses multifaceted approach to better health (intermittent fasting, whole foods, etc). I'll keep on updating my weight loss. So far I have more energy, better sleep and less inflammation in my joints. I can't wait to see how I feel at the 30 day mark. I don't understand the negative reviews/complaints on here. The information is good and I'm actually trying it out(not a diet newbie in the least) and it's working very well for me so far.UPDATE: Still going strong.I've lost over 20lbs also loving having more energy too. I feel like my body is really adjusting well to this way of eating. Definitely gonna keep going. More updates to come.

great book
This book gives a real look at the way we have been eating. I know eating the fruits and veggies, nuts , healthy oils and fish and meat are the best way to help yourself. But, I did not think about eating my main meal in the morning and my smallest at night. But that really makes sense, it sets you up for good nutrition all day.

LOVE THIS BOOK!
This book was the BEST use of my Amazon gift card, especially in the New Year when I am determined to change my eating habits! It's got all sorts of tips, like eat most of your daily calories at breakfast and lunch, and try to eat the same portions and food types everyday. There's practical advice, like what to eat in different situations such as before a job interview, or before making a big decision, or when you exercise. Wish I had this book before the holidays because there's a section on what to eat at holiday parties (I put a yellow sticky for next year). All in all, it's very informative, easy to read, and highly actionable.

Totally disappointing
Had high hopes for this and what a disappointment and insult to readers. The whole premise of eat 75% of calories before dinner can be summed up in a sentence yet they stretch it out over 100s of pages with insults to our intelligence by telling us to eat celery and hummus, handful of nuts, etc. This kind of healthy food is common knowledge and no need for a book! And they’re totally against eggs. Definitely save your money.
