I never got to watch the American version and it's the same plot. The British version I find hard to find. I remember the actual location on the set. This is a full box set of all the episodes and there is extra footage. Worth the price that's reasonable.

Very surprised at how good this series is.I watched the uk version when it was broadcast and thought it was ok, groundbreaking in its way but not very well acted etc.I only bought the US version because of the positive reviews and am pleased I did. It's very well acted and the storyline seems more complete. I agree that it is unnecessarily explicit at times but overall highly recommend it.

I've had seen all episodes of every QAF season, and I am confident to say that this show portrays it all...the good, the bad, and the ugly. If you try to focus on the fact that there are stereo-typical scenes in the show, then thats all you'll see. However, it covers every living scenario gay or straight.

One of the best shows to come out of Canadian Television, along side Stargate and Xfiles. A great body of work reflecting the times and tribulations of being gay from first beginings, to maturity, and on to the not so happy ever afters. Thats life and it is all here in this 5 series work.
