This cheese is bar none one of the best ever! It melts nicely for a warm sandwich addition. We frequently have mesquite smoked chicken breast on a ciabatta or a jalapeño cheddar croissant with this cheese. Great as a stand alone cheese.YOU CANT CALL YOURSELF A CHEESE LOVER OR CONNOISSEUR IF YOU HAVEN'T HAD THIS!!!First time I ordered it was packed perfectly in an insulated box with freezer packs and arrived in as expected condition.2nd time it was in an insulated envelope and had obviously gotten warm in shipment as the exterior of the wax was greasy unlike the first shipmentREMEMBER: this comes directly from Ireland

I love this cheese so much I get depressed when it isn't easily available. I have converted others. Our local supermarket carried it once and it did not sell because of its strange appearance. I bought all they had shelved,thinking there was more in the back, and have not found it there again.I have ordered the five-pound wheel before when it cost much more due to the shipping. I have ordered one lb slab and they arrived melted. This wheel was packaged by experts. It took me five minutes to unwrap it. The sticker says it should be refrigerated and eaten within 5days after it is opened,but what I think it means it once a slab is removed from the wheel and the wax peeled it should be eaten within a few days. This is considered a vegan cheese for those who have a concern about such things. It is best consumed with Guinness​. When I serve it to those who have never had it, I encourage the reluctant it give it a try. Then I wait for them to tell me it is the best cheese they have ever sampled.

This cheese arrived nicely packed in an insulated package and is absolutely amazing. This is by far one of my favorite cheeses.

It didn't keep well. First of all, I was the only one to like it in my household. It molded and became garbage very quickly.

Despite my dairy allergy, I'm miraculously able to eat cheese without any truly dire side effects. While a friend and I were out the other day, the bizarre appearance of this cheese made it stand out from the others. That it contained porter was an interesting side note. Being the adventurous sort when it comes to cheese, I gave it a chance.It's freaking amazing. I'd use stronger language to emphasize this, but Amazon standards y'know.The cheddar has a wonderful sharp taste to it that is really well emphasized by the bitter porter flavor. It's pretty much heaven in a mouthful and stands incredibly well on its own. You don't have to pair this with anything to enjoy it, although I'm planning on trying it out with a variety of things to see how it does. I really loved letting the porter around the cheese melt in my mouth, then devour the cheddar. I don't want to sound like a pretentious cheese snob because I'm nothing of the sort, but this really was a great experience.A bit of a warning, though. This cheese can crumble (not that this is a bad thing) so you'll want to exercise a little caution to ensure that all of the morsels end up in your mouth and not on your shirt. I found that out the hard way.

This cheese is wonderful. Great with fruit and wine - This is a very distinct cheese and definitely worth trying. The marbling and color only adds to the interest!

The presentation can sometimes scare a few people away, especially when they are only used to orange cheese. However, once the daring few take a taste, everyone is convinced that this cheese is delicious!
