Invisible Hinge

Bought two Soss hinges for a hidden door project but they didn't work for my application. The quality of the hinges is good and if you use them on a standard-width door they will work perfectly. I tried to use them to pivot a bookshelf and the geometry would not work out so I had to return them.Nothing against the hinges - they would be perfect for a neat, clean hingeless look on a regular door. The only concern is that you would need a plunge router and the Soss jig (extra cost) to be sure you get the mortising right. Without both of those you have to get the mortising exactly right or the hinges won't sit properly, based on the install videos I watched.

These are great invisible hinges. Easy to install and work great. Highly reccomend

Everything was fine.

I used this for a very slowly engineered hidden trap door under Click flooring, and I didn't want the hinges to show. Don't assume you're just going to buy, install, and be done. Like I said... slowly engineered. I downloaded actual engineered drawings and specs from site, and carved out a wide notch under the flooring board... but the product itself... perfect! Manufacturer was prompt in confirming I can use these horizontally, and not just for a vertical door hang. I might post pics here at some point, but still in mid build, and no time right now.

It seems to be a solid well made hinge but I'm giving 3 stars because when ordering I was pretty sure from the description that it would come as a set of 2. because of this, I couldn't finish my project on time. I'd say the problem is the product description. Needless to say, I thought I was paying this amount for two, not one.

We just installed these on both existing and new doors. They look much better on the new doors since the existing ones have the cut-outs from the previous standard hinges.These are high-quality and solid. We had a professional install them.

Works just fine. Relatively easy installation. Enabled us to install a hidden door.

As advertised. I installed without a jig, but it would have been easier with the jig. Nice hinges.

We used 3 of these for a hidden slat door, really nice high quality, sturdy, easy install once you chisel out the space to inset them, they look great , work great and can’t be seen from either side of the door when closed

I would rate these hinges 5 stars except that they are not 100% the same size. They are almost the same size but by less than a millimeter the sizes sometimes differ. I would carve out the hole for the hinge (I bought 4 of these) and some of the hinges would fit snugly but others not so. I became aware of this and the same phenomenon occurred in every hole I carved out with a jig. How could they fit differently in the same exact hole if they are all 100% identical? The answer is that they are not 100% identical. Also, I ended up returning one of them and getting a replacement from Amazon (which they sent promptly) as one of the hinges looked very "suspicious" (color was off, finish/paint questionable with weird marks, etc., compared to the other 3. To me it looked like it was a counterfeit and I did not want to take a chance of the hinge failing after some time). The box that it came in was also slightly a lighter color than the other 3 and the print on it less sharp than the 3 which looked of better quality. Other than that these hinges are great, although a bit expensive.

Good hinge but the screws it was supposed to come with had be left out of the repackaged box.
