Solid entry level trail shoe under 50$
Photos of old pair and new pair to show wear...For 45$ these are the best trail runners I've found so far...I just bought a new pair 1/2 size up now that its getting hotter out and I'm walking further my feet swell up a little more and I need the room. Over 150 miles in my old pair and they are still in good shape, bottom padding has flattened out a bit, but it's to be expected for what your buying. These arent 180+$ pro model shoes with a ton of padding and bubbles. But for sand, rock, grass, dirt, trail hikes, they are comfy and breathe well. I do run on sidewalks and streets with them sometimes, but I'd rather get a regular running shoe for that, it wears the treads down, but really not bad considering... not great for running thru wet grass, your feet will get wet/ can get slick on packed mud. Haven't ran thru any real water yet so I dont know how fast they dry. For a solid entry level trail shoe under 50$ that wont fall apart after 2 uses, I definitely recommend trying these out.

Comfotable walking shoe .
The shoes are comfortable for me . I have a neuropathy so I have to be careful with the shoes I wear . I think they are sized well and also well made . They are comfortable in the house , the garage and walking up the driveway and around the yard . I live in the UP so they will get a good test for durability . They are a nice looking pair of shoes .

Comfortable Good Traction
I've worn these for almost two months, running on dirt trails, snow, ice, and city streets and have found them to be a good mix of comfort and stability. Just enough padding and stiffness to protect your feet when running on rocks yet they don't have a heavy feel to them. Surprisingly comfortable on city streets too.

Soiid trail shoe
Great trail shoe, and 1/2 the price of cascadias. Upper fits well, large toe box, secure uppers. Excellent sole pattern, great traction on clay, leaves, pine debris and sandstone. Good ventilation. .ill be adding orange superfeet for more arch support. Toe could be swept up a bit more to avoid roots.

Good, but for some reason these shoes have started ...
Good, but for some reason these shoes have started listing different measures for width. Used to be EE, EEEE, etc. Now it's Narrow, Medium, Wide, Extra Wide, etc. I assumed extra wide was equivalent to EEEE, but it is not. It's narrower than my EEEE Asics. Still OK, but not as wide.

It is a good low end trail running shoe
This is an odd shoe, which required some breaking in and getting used to. After wearing it while travelling in London it held up well and my feet felt good in them. The shoe is kinda squishy, like crocks but with a firm tread. It is odd. It felt okay out of the box. After that they felt better. Wear these daily without issue. They are black with some dark grey so they are not going to stand out like other shoes in this model, which is what I wanted.

Not a 4EE, Venture 8 Is Wider
In the first picture you can see these shoes, the Frequent Trail on the left, Gel Venture 8 in the middle and Gel Venture 7, my old shoes on the right. The Venture 7's are 4E and wider than both. The Venture 8's are a bit narrower but fit well, especially across the ball of the foot area. The Frequent Trail shoes are well built, but fit narrow for me and I have very wide feet. Also they are much stiffer than the Venture shoes, with a stiffer less cushioned sole. That may be preferable for walking on rocky terrain, and they certainly feel very stable. However for a blend of comfort and durability I would recommend the Gel Venture 8 instead. Asics seems to be making their shoes a bit narrower, and the width of the new shoes is about a quarter of an inch less than my Gel Venture 7's. The 8's have the same width in the sole but the toe box is slightly smaller. Still comfy. I'm sticking with the Gel Venture 8 and I will be returning the Frequent Trails. The Venture 8's are just as durable looking but much more comfortable to walk in because the sole flexes more. I'm not saying don't buy these because they are still good sshoes, and might fit someone else perfectly. Also you might want a stiffer shoe, but I'd be willing to bet you would find the Venture 8 to be a much more comfortable shoe for walking or running. The insoles do come out, and I have replaced them with Spenco Total Support orthotic insoles which give the arch support that is lacking from this shoe and also the Venture 8's. Asics is no longer putting a foam arch support insole in their shoes. I have flat feet so I found even that was not enough, the Spenco's are a game changer and cured my plantar fasciitis. Asics is still my favorite brand however they are making them a bit narrower now for some reason. Even so, the Gel Venture 8's all still comfortable and in my opinion a nicer looking shoe with a much more cushioned ride, also a more aggressive tread pattern for a trail running/walking. The second picture is Venture 8 on the right, about the same price. Hard to see in the picture but the forefoot is wider in the Venture 8 even though both shoes are extra wide size.

Tl/dr? Buy the shoes.
@ 5'11" and 215 pounds, I need a shoe with a reasonable amount of cushion, these shoes are great so far, 25 miles in them I might buy a second pair! Don't expect hoka one one's but fantastic for the price, Asics did it again!

Disappointing runners that fall apart quickly
Extremely disappointed with the quality of this product. I had another pair of runners by a leading competitor which were far more comfortable and lasted 2 years before they began to fall apart. These runners did not last even 2 months under light usage.

Great looking Asics shoe
So reassuring to get the product and it fits my wide feet. It is a true Asics 4E fit..I wear them as a street Shoe and it is very comfortable for long periods of time. There is not much "padding" but that is OK.Perhaps a slight problem with pronation as there is limited arch support. I'd buy another pair but they dont have my size in the colour I like

Comfortable But wearing out quickly
I wear these 2 hours per day 6 times a week on a bush walk. Some stony patches but basically a clay track. Sole looks like it will last < 6 months on current rate. A hole has appeared in the lining inside above the heel, Conclusion: comfortable but maybe not robust enough
