I recently purchased this gauge for interproximal reduction (IPR), and unfortunately, it has proven to be wildly inaccurate. As a dental professional, precision is non-negotiable, especially when it comes to reducing tooth enamel. This gauge, however, consistently fails to measure the correct space between teeth, which could easily lead to over or under-reduction of enamel.The inaccuracy of this tool is not just a minor inconvenience—it poses a serious risk to patient care. Reducing too much enamel can compromise the structural integrity of the tooth, potentially leading to sensitivity, decay, and other long-term dental issues. On the other hand, insufficient reduction could result in improper alignment and a less effective treatment outcome.To make matters worse, I was not able to get a refund for this defective product. Given the importance of precision in IPR, I cannot recommend this gauge. It's crucial for dental professionals to have tools they can rely on, and this one simply doesn't meet the necessary standards for accuracy.
