Honestly just a really nifty tool if you’re not using an automatic peg winder. Has everything you need for most string replacements. High quality and still works years later.

This 3-in one tool was a very good buy, and I found it to work superbly.One note about the peg remover part of the tool:The picture shows it straight up and down on/over the peg, as if you would just push it over the very top of the peg from a straight up and down position.TRUST ME.... the best way is to hold it straight up and down, but SLIDE IT OVER THE PEG from the back side/rear of the peg, by easily wiggiling it from side to side (if necessary) until it flexes enough to go onto/over the peg and then just pull straight up and the peg should come out.Don't try to just push it onto/over the peg from a straight up and down position, as one would think is the proper way by looking at the picture. You will find it will NOT work this way, as we did the first time we tried to use the peg remover system/part of the tool. I only stumbled across the above idea of coming in from behind the peg after trying several times of just trying to push it onto/over the peg from the top, with no success.Once we did it the way I've described above....it worked perfectly and removed all the pegs rather effortlessly.The winder part works well too....although you might have to tighten the screw which holds it on occasionally if it becomes very loose or comes off completely. Just don't over tighten as it is just plastic and you could easily strip the screw/threads outlThe cutter on this unit worked very well for me also.I've personally had no trouble with this tool, once I figured out how to use the peg remover, and love it--vs carrying several tools to accomplish the task of changing strings on my guitars,I do believe the hint on how to use the peg remover is the best part of this review, and believe that many have gotten frustrated trying to use that part of the tool, only to become disappointed thinking that it is not properly designed. They should explain how to do this the way I've described above.....it really does work this way...so give it a try.

I like the fact that it's an all in one tool so you don't have to spend time looking around for the tools. The string winder feels a little more ergonomical because of the handle and is very easy to use. The bridge pin puller is a plus compared to most once I figured out that you need a little more pressure to get it in place to grab the pins. The string cutter is basically worthless as I expected it to be. It cut the thick, low E string pretty well but all the rest would just bend instead of cut thus the 4 stars. But the other two functions are worth the price. I'd buy it again.

Am very happy with this product! I was going to buy a mini-tool to replace my last one I kept in my guitar case, but for the same cost I bought this. Works well. I have to learn to use the winder part better. I do miss the needle nose I had on a pocket tool. So I just carry a separate one in my case.

If you play a lot of guitar and change a lot of strings sets like I do, this is a must have. This tool is very well built, which is expected from Diaddario, i’ve been using their strings for years and every set I’ve ever used this top notch so I knew this tool would be top-notch. I was right, very comfortable with multi functions all aboard in your hand. The cutters is one of the best things. It leaves a nice close cut to the tuning peg with no risk of cutting the string itself. I highly recommend.!!!

The cutter works fine. The winder was always a bit awkward, and eventually after a couple of years it broke. Yeah, I know because it was awkward. "learn to use it" I hear you say. I say "it was awkward". After it broke I made a nice wooden handle for winder part and it wasn't awkward anymore.
