DreamGEAR Universal Plug n Play Controller with 140 Games - Not Machine Specific

Item as described. Cheesy games, with questionable control with the game pad at times, but good enough to keep my small kids occupied in the back seat during long drives, utilizing the headrest DVD players w/ AUX inputs. Would buy again at this price-point (~$20), but not over.

Here's the thing about this. I bought it KNOWING the games would be terrible. And I got exactly what I wanted. They truly are. I liked it for that reason. If you are a grandparent shopping for your grandkid, get something else. If you want the novelty of playing cheap games made in China on a cheap, plastic, bad-smelling controller, then this is for you.

Very Grainy, hard to play games, NO INSTRUCTIONS. Maybe a hard core game player might "KNOW" how but a novice like me its a disaster!! Cannot recommend unless you are proficient in gaming and have a non-digital TV with a smaller screen. Hardcore gamers would probably not like the old games.

My expectations for this were low but this device managed to disappoint anyway. The games are basically clones of 8-bit games from the early days of consoles (1990's?), and they appear to be simple but amusing. I say appear to be because I tried to play nine of the games, and in each case, after anywhere from a few seconds to about three minutes of play, this little device either stopped working completely and had to be turned off and back on, or rebooted to the initial screen showing the list of games. Either the software is completely defective, or there must be some kind of defective solder join or loose connection inside of it. If you want to be able to play a game for about a minute and then have the device reboot while you are playing, then this is the device for you. It's unfortunate because if this worked at all, it would be an amusing time-killer for the visiting nephews. As it is, however, this is just a piece of frustrating junk. Don't buy it. I'm returning mine for a refund. If it had been a few dollars cheaper I would have just thrown it in the trash.
