A Vehicle Voltron that’s only good for standing on a shelf.
A Vehicle Voltron that’s only good for sitting on a shelf.Been looking for a proper review for this product and resorted to Youtube videos for clarification. Big fan of Voltron since I was a kid and even had the giant motorized 15 spaceships version. A while ago, I came across a small plastic model version and snagged that. I also have a bootleg Voltron that separates into ~12 different sub units [not the full 15]. I got excited when I saw this vinyl version surface. I’m somewhat disappointed with it. Firstly there is very little movement/articulation. The figure is shown with the elbows bent as if they have joints. They do not. You get circular rotation at the shoulders, as in he can raise his arms. The hips, and legs and knees to do bend. There is rotation at the hips and waist. In other words; not good for poses- besides attention and the ‘mummy walk’ with the arms reaching out to grab you.Fists are molded so holding a sword (didn’t come with one anyway) is out of the question. Even as a non-moving doll, I’m let down. The thighs and calves are placed in a weird way so that Voltron stands pinched- in a non-imposing stance. There was a Lion Force Voltron that came out for the San Diego Comic-con that was FULLY Articulated. It’s an action figure. I’m still looking for Vehicle Voltron to get that same kind of treatment. It stands 8.5 inches tall and is fairly light, being a hollow vinyl figure.

Great Gift
I got this as a gift for my dad, who has the vehicle Voltron that has, fankly, seen better days. I remember playing with it when I was little so when I found this I just had to get it as a gift. It is smaller than the one that he has and it doesn't come apart. But the detail is still there.

Voltron Just Made My Wife A Happy Camper
My wife Christine is a HUGE Transformers (and sci-fi) fan and told me she used to play with a Voltron robot when she was growing up. So I couldn't resist getting her this just because. Needless to say, she LOVES it for the detail and nostalgia. THANK YOU!

Looks just like the true Voltron!
Unlike the Mattel Voltron that came out back in the 1980s, this looks more like how Voltron appeared in the cartoon. It is also more mobile, with articulated torso, head and shoulders. This is a handsome figure, a must for any true Voltron fan. If you like to draw Voltron, you can use this figure as a good basis because it has a fair amount of detail. Also, it is quite faithful to the cartoon, right down to the plus-symbol in an angular "U" on Voltron's helmet. OK, so it doesn't separate into 15 vehicles, but that is fine. Now I have a little companion for when I go back and watch my Dairugger XV DVDs - which I strongly recommend so you can see what really happened, in a sense.
