Heinz Original Sweet & Thick BBQ Barbecue Sauce (21.4 oz Bottle)

Love barbecue and usually make my own sauce. I got this just to have as a condiment for grilling (not the same as barbecue). It holds up! Nice vinegar placid without overpowering, doesn’t feel like I’ll have a sugar crash, and slightly Smokey.It promises NC style and it delivers. Peppery without being spicy. It is the right viscosity not too thick not too runny.

I grew up with this sauce. Now that I live in the south, I couldn’t find it. Then I saw it on Amazon. If you’re looking for HOT, this is not for you. It’s a sweet and slightly spicy sauce.

I bought this as an experiment and I am happy I did. I bought the Kosmos Competition Sauce (amazing seasonings!!), Chubbs, etc and added this to a big smoker bbq cook out. I picked this over the others. Was really surprised by the great vinegar taste (which was great with pork) and surprised by a big chain company. I would definitely buy again

I loved this sauce so much before the packaging update.. i guess it was more than just a packaging update. They used to make one BBQ sauce. One, and it was perfect. It was so good. It had a sweet, smoky, thick, full bodied flavor, and was so delicious. I am usually very picky about BBQ sauce. My other go to BBQ sauce is usually $7, so imagine my surprise when I tried this sauce, liked it, and found out it was only $1.50!With the packaging change, theres 4 variations. I got the sweet Kansas type, assuming it'd be like the previous version that I loved so much.I was looking at the ingredients, and noticed ANCHOVIES!!!!It may be the third to last ingredient, but why? Really, Heinz, why would you do that to your sauce? How gross. This isn't Caesar Salad dressing, it's BBQ sauce.I am truly afraid to try it. Its been sitting in my fridge waiting to be opened, but I'm too afraid it's gonna be gross. I don't want to eat gross flavors, it makes me get sick for some reason.It's not returnable, it's food. What a waste. So I tried a bunch of other sauces since I bought this one, and each one left me feeling very disappointed, so I went back to my delicious, fishless, $7 sauce again.

What a great taste to any type of dish you would like to spice up. Meat chicken or even on rice yummy

Not sweet like all those other mass produced BBQ sauces out there with their honey and stuff. This is a straight up kick in the tastebuds, and has just a *hint* of spiciness to it (mostly black pepper?).If you're not a fan of all the sweet and teriyaki style bbq sauces out there, give this a try. It's my favorite one so far, and it could be yours soon too.

This is far more watery than a regular sauce but it is soooooo delicious. A vinegary BBQ. I wish it was easier to find to buy. It’s lovely.

I have a bottle of heinz bbq smokey and rich and when comparing the consistency, the carolina vinegar style is very watery.it's not diluted, just watery. and it's nothing to shout about in my opinion. it's nice, but i wouldn't buy a second bottle.others may like it, but it wasn't my type of bbq sauce.
