There is a much better choice
We used an InFocus LiteShow II in my church for several years with no problems. When it died we bought an InFocus LiteShow III, a completely new design from the II. This one was not easy to setup like the II and that may have been because it was defective, but when you can't get hold of a knowledgeable tech support person how can you tell? After a couple calls and hours wasted with tech support people that admitted knowing little about the product I was told the person that knows the LiteShow III would call me within 24 hours. As I didn't live in the church that was not convenient when he called at 8 PM and I was told there was no way to schedule a call when I could be at the church. So after a few more hours of trying to get it to work the LiteShow III was sent back to Amazon and I bought a ViewSonic WPG-360 Wireless Presentation Gateway that I installed and had working perfectly in about 20 minutes.

Does what it needs to
It's not going to work for video or rich media - we use it to show speakers notes, so it's only outputting black backgrounds with white text. It's a bit clunky to get configured -- I recommend going into the web interface and changing the system to have a PIN that you create. It creates a new PIN everytime, and you have to connect it the projector and read the PIN. If you set it to something else, you can simply save the PIN in the software and never type it in again.

Serious flaw with wireless
The unit is represented as able to connect to a wireless access point, but this doesn't work. InFocus technical support confirmed that this feature is not reliable and recommend the unit be hard-wired.OK, let me explain. In a corporate setting, a laptop user in a conference room making a presentation may need access to network resources while presenting. This unit is designed to accept wireless connections to it, but that's the problem. If you are connected directly to it, you can't be connected to your corporate network at the same time. So, I thought I would use the wireless connection in this to connect to one of my company's wireless access points. That way, everyone to connect to this through the company network. The product does not function properly in this mode as verified by technical support. The only way to have this on a corporate network is to hard-wire it.

Easy 1-2-3
We just remodeled our training room and we mounted the projector to the ceiling. I did not want to run cables or pay to have someone run the cable, so this was a perfect answer. This device works with well with any projector. It was also nice I was able to setup access when we have multiple presenters' using there own laptop. With this device I install the software on all the laptops and switch the presenter by the web application. Also there is another cool feature; you can view four different screens at once. So I will be training on a software update and I will switch it to other staff in the room to see what they are doing on the big screen.

Great but challenging
This is a great device for displaying a desktop or laptop screen onto an HDTV with a VGA input. You can display presentation materials during meetings wirelessly and they look great. However, if you try to go to the internet while connected all you can get is the device user logon page until you figure out that you have to connect to a viable internet connection first and then use the Lite Show 3 as a pass through for the internet. I was able to easily set my first one up with an unsecured Wi-Fi, but the other two only have secured Wi-Fis available and that is turning out to be more difficult. My organization doesn't allow these devices to be configured directly into the corpoate network, so please check with you network administrator before you purchase if this is for corporate use.

Too slow; too choppy
I suppose this thing might work for displaying static images. You CAN get an image from a MacBook Pro to the LiteShow III wirelessly, and then to a projector from there. But it was no good for video or presentations that included animated transitions or builds. Which covers 90% of what I project. So it had to go back.I hope such a box works sometime in the future. Apple seems to be doing great things with AirPlay. But for now, LiteShow III is not ready for prime time. (I was using an early 2008 MacBook Pro 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB SDRAM.)

Making the best of a bad stiutation
I have a new computer with NO VGA hook up and we have a projector that ONLY has a VGA connector. So I needed something to bridge the gap. I called In Focus and they suggested the wireless adapter and it works great. Now I can sit anywhere in the room and project the PowerPoint onto the screen without being tied to the projector. WHAT FREEDOM. The only downside is re establishing a connection to the Liteshow III each time. If you are willing to take a few extra minutes to wireless connect each time, you will love it!

Litehow III
We wanted to use our InFocus projector wireless without cables. This is the only adapter that we could use with our projector instead of like some projectors where you can use a cheap adapter from Walmart. It works fine, but is a bit expensive.
