I am always forgetting to buy garlic cloves--this is not a recent problem--it is one I have had for years. So, a long time ago I started buying McCormick minced garlic in bottles in the grocery stores. Then, grocery stores stopped carrying it. I couldn't find it anywhere. But then, I found a place in the town sort of near our off-grid cabin that sold almost everything you could want for baking or cooking in bins. You could buy as little or as much as you wanted. I stocked-up every year on minced garlic and dried lemon peel until this year when the store closed. OH NO!Expiration date on product ordered directly from Amazon is two years from now. I looked for dried minced garlic on Amazon and found it! Happy again!No, it's not as good as fresh garlic, but it is better than no garlic or garlic powder. Time to search for the lemon peel now. I bet it's here somewhere.

I do like to eat, but... I am a combination of busy/lazy. Mashing fresh garlic can be messy, smelly and time consuming. Therefore, I believe I am a perfect consumer for this minced garlic product. The garlic bits are big enough to be noticed in soups and stews, but small enough to provide gentle taste for home made garlic bread and salads. In fact, last weekend I used it in olive oil for bread dipping (I made the mix a few hours ahead in order for the garlic taste to soak thru the olive oil, and then added freshly ground parmesan directly before serving; tasted yum!).BTW: Buying this product in bulk (the package contains six shakers), I was concerned about its freshness. However, I needn't have worried. The expiry date was Nov 29, 2012. Secondly, the price of the product on Amazon was excellent, particularly as I purchased it under the Subscribe and Save program. I highly recommend it!

I've been using McCormick products for many years. It's a name I've come to trust, so felt confident ordering their minced garlic. There's almost no flavor. I have to use a lot of it to get a garlic flavor in whatever I'm cooking. I don't know what's going on at McCormick, if there's been a change in management or what. In the future I'll buy fresh garlic bulbs; might even grow my own. The cost? I feel ripped off. Save your money.

When you don't have time for fresh garlic this is a good alternative. I don't like powdered garlic. Minced is much better.

When we couldn't get "sliced" garlic from McCormick on Amazon, we ordered the minced. I really think this works better in my cooking and putting in salads, etc. Good choice for adding a little flavor to anything.
