When this arrived, I was ecstatic! Expecting a hand-made book with hand-made paper, I was not disappointed. Simply made and just beautiful.The book is light-weight. Cover is a thin leather—no hard-board. All pages have deckle edges; no cutting for alignment.The description is spot-on except for the cover’s color: it is not a bright gold but a more muted hue. Hope the pic helps illustrate that difference.Each page is different in roughness, has its own individual assortment of natural elements and in weight/thickness. All of these are the reasons I bought it, so I’m way beyond cool with my purchase.If the customer expects sameness as in a factory produced item; don’t buy this.For those that want a one of a kind journal—this is the bomb!

received the journal on time, the leather is soft yet durable, the paper is all handmade and well stitched, be aware that the color of the leather will vary at times, as well as the paper, but adds character to the journal. I have been pleased with both journals that I have purchased and will purchase again in the future

Big and very light at the same time. Great texture. I applied a coat of gesso and painted on with oil paint and it worked very well. I loved it.

This contains an incredible amount of nice Lokta paper of very good quality. My journal must have been bound by a beginner, it has nice leather, but it shows no real skill in binding, and it wasn't cheap. I trimmed the uneven leather cover with a razor blade and it looks better. I don't care that much about the cover, I'm interested in the paper, so four stars for quality paper.

If you journal with a fountain pen this is NOT your paper. Imagine writing on Russian toilet paper - sucks up ink like blotting paper and tears easily with smaller nibs. If you are trying to be environmentally friendly this isn't the way. You'll end up using a ball point pen that ends up in the landfill. No, I don't recommend and would not buy again.

This Journal was everything we were hoping for.. Makes a great gift for that world traveler in the family.
