There aren’t many children who haven’t dreamt of owning their own theme park. Chris Sawyer tapped into this childhood dream and mixed in some superb game design to bring us one of the best strategy game franchises of all time.Sadly, this latest iteration takes what made the original series great and dumbs it down to new lows of banality. Forget about spending hours, if not days, tweaking each finite detail of park management to build your own elaborate version or Disney Land.This game strips away the depth, breadth and vision of the original series to the extent that it is all but impossible to become immersed in the gameplay. Presumably the game has been dumbed down for the mobile game generation who would struggle with the intricacy of a complex management sim. If that was the intention then it should have been kept on mobile.Come to think of it, then it probably would have been quite a good mobile app to wile away the commute home (if that’s your thing). I’ll be generous and give it two stars for that.

A good game especially if you like the original rollercoaster tycoons on PC. Following the same thing as the originals but a bit more updated. Handy sandbox modes for younger kids, some good scenarios but could've made them a bit more varied.
