DeSantisCozy Partner Hoslter, Tan, Right, FITS: S&W M&P Shield 9/40, S&W M&P Shield M2.0 9/40

The quality of this is great as is most of the products made by the Desantis company. The holster is snug and offers great retention which is also very adjustable if the need should arise. The snaps on this are easy to operate both opening and closing when putting this on my hip. The reason that this doesn't quite get five stars is because of the cant angle and stability. The cant on this is just very slightly too much and because of that, I have trouble getting a positive grip. This may very well be a personal problem but it exists none the less. The issue of stability is the main reason I couldn't give this five stars. The smoothness of the outer material is such that it likes to wiggle back and forth to the point that the cant is not the same as where you put it. This causes an issue for both drawing and sometimes re holstering. I have had times where it shifted so much that when I went to draw, it wouldn't let go because the angle was just so that it wasn't a smooth draw/angle.

If you need something to keep you warm at night, go to the bar/tinder. If you are looking for a comfortable companion to your favorite steel/polymer friend, you’ve found it!When you first get it, make sure you wear the snaps in probably 30-40 times. I’ve found that it also helps to pull the loops tight, and roll the snaps from the bottom upward to snap good. Make sure the snaps go on all the way!This thing rides well with my M&P shield. I get a good, fast grip. It rides right where I keep my OWB, so not much adjustment to muscle memory is needed. This holster is VERY comfortable. I forget it’s there, and I’m used to using my little Sig 238 OWB for driving purposes.It doesn’t move around too much, no readjusting constantly, fits well driving (3:30 or so).All in all, I think I might get one for my LCR, and I know what I’ll get when I get my Sig 365!

I have owned this holster now some 2 months and carry my Shield daily in it.The holster is very comfortable and I can only tell I am carry by the weight ofthe firearm in it. Retention is good. I made an initial adjustment to the tensionscrew and have not had to change it since.I will be honest here I sweat like a pig in the summer and the leather of this holstershows has no stain marks. The sign of a good dye job and surface finish which isvery smooth. Not to say it will not eventually stain like any leather product but after2 months no.The belt loops are a bit large but I only wear a military issue belt. The loops of theholster have flattened out a bit and do not show under a shirt. As I said I carry dailyand interact with numerous people. If they have noticed my carrying a firearm theyhave said nothing.Due to the large belt loops on the holster when I draw the firearm there is a slightmovement upward of the holster as the loop space hits the belt but it doesnot slow down the draw and actually makes it easier to re-holster the firearm.All in all I am pleased with this holster. Very good value for money IMO.

As a big guy (350 lbs), I have trouble concealing a handgun in my waist band (you would think with all the rolls it would be easy, but the gun always manages to find a way to stick out). I have previously had some luck with a custom hybrid type holster from Old Faithful Holsters. When I switched to carrying my M&P Shield I started using a pocket holster. When I found myself needing an in-waist-band (IWB) holster for a road trip and didn't have time to order a custom holster I decided to try the Desantis Cozy Partner. To my amazement the Cozy Partner not only kept the gun tucked in tight making concealment under a untucked shirt effortless, but it was comfortable. I have always been of the school of thought that carrying a gun should be comforting not necessarily comfortable, but this was both. Even driving for 2 hours straight it was like the Shield wasn't even there (my other holsters never let me forget they are there when I sit down with them). Even better yet is how easy putting on and taking off the holster is. This is the easiest holster I have to put on and get properly positioned. When the leather wears out (which all leather holsters will eventually), I will be replacing it with the exact same holster.

Quality - is spot on. The quality that you would expect from DeSantis.My only real comment would be to the design of this IWB (in waist band) holster. The two black button caps on the waist band loops are metal. I would change the caps to plastic.ISSUE - When I wear the holster at my 4 O'clock position and re-holster my gun, sometimes is make contact with the button caps. This leaves a slight mark on the slide. I guess I need to work on my muscle memory.SOLUTION - I put some black electrical tape on the face of the metal button caps. This is a temporary solution. A permanent solution might to be to find some type of acrylic paint or something like that and paint the metal button caps.I will keep this holster, but probably invest in a hybrid IWB, such as the Mtac Minotaur.

I really like this holster; HOWEVER, i have two issues with it: First of all, the front sight of my firearm,(S&W M&P Shield 9mm,) easily catches on the last bit of leather around the mouth of the holster. Second, and not nearly as big of an issue, I wish the holster itself was just a little bit stiffer. I know, it's a leather holster, but other leather holsters i've had were a bit more rigid which is a desired quality for me.Other than these two issues, this holster is great, it is very comfortable, and it does a great job protecting and concealing the firearm. Would be a five star review for sure if it wasn't for the sight catching.

GOOD FIT

I almost did not purchase this holster because the description is in error.It says that this item is imported when it is actually made in the USA.This holster fits my Shield perfectly.The snaps are a little tight, but my friend (who owns the same holster) said that his were the same and that they loosened up with use.The adjustment works as expected and makes for a custom fit.
