Great little shirt-pocket friendly reporter notebook.
I recently received a Moleskine Plain Reporter, 9cm x 14cm to use for work. I prefer reporter-style notebooks, but the Moleskine one was really special. The bound construction, expandable pocket inside the rear cover, and especially the elastic band that keeps it closed made it very user friendly and an excellent companion for four busy days in Asia. On my return, I discovered this very similar notebook from Leuchtturm 1917 here on Amazon. This notebook is slightly less expensive than the Moleskine version, and has a few subtle differences. It is slightly longer (about half an inch), includes a three-page contents section, cover and spine labels for archiving, and subtly numbered pages. The paper is slightly off white with a greenish tinge. The lines and other printing are subtle, and look like they are in grey. Like the Moleskin, this notebook has a leatherette cover, some perforated sheets at the back, an expandable pocket inside the rear cover, and a small flyer describing the design features and telling a short story about the company. It's hard to believe this much thought can go into something like a small notebook, but it really adds to the usefulness over a typical spiral-bound job. Designed in Germany, made in Taiwan. Recommended.

Security Officer's Best Friend
I absolutely love this Pad! If your a reporter, cop, security, etc...you will love this pad too. The hardcover keeps your pad protected and all your notes in place. This is a big deal since we usually are given memo pads at work and don't last very long in our pants or vest pockets. I always feel wasteful when I have to get a new pad after only using two to three dozens sheets or so.The elastic band as mention is quite useful to keep the pad close or as a page mark for quick, last page reference. The back expandable pocket inside the rear cover is very useful to keep any small reference notes or business cards. I personally use it to store special notes for that day that relate to my shift for easy access. I also used this pocket to store a vendor, contractor, or police officer's business card. Later on when I write my report I can pulled the information or card itself and attached it to my report. This pad is very useful and a true eye-catcher. The quality is seen throughout and its very appealing.

Durable and well made
It has the great features and quality as everyone else is saying. Although almost all of my pages are perforated which is nice but maybe it was an accident. Most important for me is it is tough. I work in veterinary medicine and have been repeatedly rabbit kicked by a 90lb german shepherd while holding him on a table and got my notepad. The notepad has some little dents in it but still is perfectly fine, and it helped protect my stomach! (until the dog somehow kicked the notepad out of my pocket)

Absolutely indispensable -- best notepad
I've bought literally stacks of these notebooks, even though they're a bit more expensive than other options. The reason is: they're incredibly well-made, and I never damage them; the pages are thick enough to accommodate watercolors, and the small pocket in the back is sturdy, handy and amazing. I love taking notes on blank pages, and this is the only notepad I use!I know it's more expensive than others, but it's SO worth it!!!

High Quality, Fits Into Pocket
Wow! I'm using this all the time. The binding is great. The pages are thick and numbered. It's great for taking notes outside, in a meeting, etc. It also fits into a jacket pocket.I also appreciate the all-black binding.

Great to carry everywhere.
Having used these since 2012, I can tell you that I love these. Out of habit, I generally go with the reporter style. Mainly due to larger spiral notebooks. Every lefty knows that that the spiral gets in the way if it’s not at the top. This particular notebook goes with me everywhere. The hardcover is sturdy enough to survive residing in a vest or side pocket. I’ve had less success using a back pocket. The paper is high quality and bleed through is not a problem. The pocket in the back is useful and, the index and numbered pages allow me to find particular information quickly. My only criticism is with the elastic band. It stretches out of shape with time and doesn’t hold securely.

Better than a Moles-COUGH... oh, sorry... it's hard for me to say that out loud.
I've been using Moleskine notebooks for maybe 8 or more years and within that time, the company, Modo E Modo, moved the production from Italy to China. Since then, I've just been completely disappointed. They're complete crap now.Enter Leuchtturm,,,Similar feel to the old German Moleskines and seem like they are better made than the Chinese-made Moleskines. They also have a Table of Contents and numbered pages. I suspect that this one will last much longer (than the new Moleskines) before I have to repair the cover; So that's good.I would give it a shot the next time you need a Moleskine. It almost hurts me to say this, but the Leuchtturm is, so-far, better than the modern Moleskine.

It’s okay, looks like picture
It’s okay. It looks just like the picture which is good. But I was hoping it’d feel a bit nicer quality. It’s quite thin and doesn’t look that nice in the bathroom. It just looks a bit cheap, which I guess it is, so it is still good for the price. It has a rubber bottom which will be good for grip, but the downside is it’ll be harder to machine wash. 3/5 stars, good enough, but could be better.

Ottimo!
Taccuino perfettamente organizzato.
