I finally bought this book for myself because I read it every year to my kindergarten class as a introduction to my Maryland ecology unit. The illustrations are lovely and it introduces the children to the critters and life of the forest.

Children and parents will love the beautiful illustrations and rhyming text about a busy tree - from its roots to its branches, many different kinds of animals live in the tree and care for the tree and the tree takes care of them. A great story for young children.

I love how it's educational yet fun and sweet, and the illustrations are so gorgeous.

This is a delightful book for a child to learn about trees.

I bought this book for my two grandchildren, 8 and 4, and they are now examining all the trees in their yard. This is a great book for learning about the "underlife" of a tree - (some things which I never knew about!) - and the tree itself. It doesn't specify a specific tree, but all trees need water and have an "underlife" which is rather fantastic. Great book.

It is a very nice book for young children to help explain some of the basics of nature. How seeds turn into trees and help provide support for an entire ecosystem. It uses great art and simple language to tell the story. A good bedtime book that does not take long to read but can be stretched out longer if you want to discuss what is happening in the artwork.

I talk to groups of children (3-10) about trees and purchased this book to read aloud. I like it and the kids all like it. The illustrations are beautiful and the text kept simple. It's a great way to teach what a tree's purpose is, in both nature and our lives, and all the benefits trees have to offer.

This book is a lovely book. It was so easy to read. It takes you through the busy time of the tree. It is suitable for all ages. I used it my forest school area. The children could remember what had happened when we went over it the following week. Illustrations are just perfect so clear and presented well.

The book arrived very quickly, and the book is just what I expected. Love the illustration and the short poetic verses. Thanks!
