Magnetic marvels
Fascinating mechanics of magnetic contraptions and an interesting learning tool. Its a clever design but the plastic structures, particularly the small pins on the pillars can be easily broken with careless handling by young fingers. This particular kit was good value.

I love playing with it
Forget my 10 year old who asked for this set at Xmas, I love playing with it! It's like good quality "clever" lego which teaches basic mechanics and moves smoothly on the bearings. My only grumble is I bought the largest set but when a ball bearing counts as a piece then you don't get as much as you would like. Hoping my daughter asks for another expansion set soon LOL.

Difficult to work out what the trick is
I love magnetic games in general and the Geomag products, of which I have a few, in particular. This one can be assembled by an eight-year-old with some skill, especially with the help of an adult. I like to assemble them with the children rather than using the toys to keep them busy. We got quite a lot of play value out of it but contrary to the Geomag Panels, the Geomag Classic, and the Geomag Mechanics Gravity I have, I have not really figured out as yet what the Geomag Mechanics is supposed to do. There is an assembly instruction that uses pictures but the final clue is escaping me at the moment. I'll probably have to look it up on the internet in order to work out the trick. One thing I don't like about the newer Geomag versions is the packaging. It is very fragile, especially once opened and the contents can easily fall out. Besides, I cannot see whether all the parts ar in it. I always take them out straight away and put them in a Tupperware or other kitchen box.

Brilliant STEM toy my kids use in imaginative ways.
We've bought various size boxes of geomags and they have been great to have in for unexpected birthday invites. My 4yo daughter and my 7yo son love them and have given geomags to their friends for every birthday over the past year. The only problem is I'll need to come up with something new for this year!

For small engineers
Amazing product for small scientists, helps them plot several projects easily and discover the 3D characteristics of geometrical figures. My son already had a smaller version of this, but I had to get a bigger one so he could increase the size of his creations. It's a very educational game, so parents can be sure they are giving a stimulating game rather than a silly one.

Great Product by be wary of Amazon's packing
My daughter loves this and regularly gets it out to play with it. She looks after it too, and makes sure to put all the pieces away when she's done. I'm sufficiently impressed that I've just ordered an extension set.My ONLY disappointment was down to Amazon, not Geomag, because they failed to pack it properly (two heavy encyclopaedias on top of it in the same box) and it arrived with Geomag box part crushed which took a little of the shine off the present. But that's Amazon's failure, not Geomag's, so I've given the product itself 5 stars. My recommendation is that you buy it alone - because it qualifies for free shipping - and don't put anything else on the order to ensure it arrives safely.

Great idea - not very much in the box - disappointing for the price.
A great concept and works well - but - we ordered two separate boxes of these with different concepts and both were disappointingly packaged. Essentially it's a large heavy box, but once you get inside the actual contents don't even fill half the space. Our 7 and 8 year old girls have enjoyed the product but after an hour had already created all the shapes and had a play with creating shapes on their own. It's a good science toy and the magnets and sticks work great - I would have just expected more variety and volume of content for the price (£45). Probably wont buy any other sets and will stick with Lego.

silence is golden
This was a Christmas present for my 10 year old. However my partner had much more fun with it.They had a boys day building from the instructions (and my son watched cartoons.) it was alot bigger than i expected and i was not the favorite person for a very long time when I fell over it and broke it.my son has more fun out of it since then and is always making several smaller constructions with the bitsso all in all brilliant keeps all the boys in my house happy and most importantly i get some peace and quiet

Unfortunately not durable
The concept is nice but the first time using it pieces broke of the small connector rings. The plastic connectors are not sturdy enough to be taken apart often.
