FABRIC COLORANT = ODOR THAT GOES AWAY!When you open the box, there is a "fishy" odor, however, a little research online will tell you this is just from the fabric coloring dyes being boxed up right after they made these. RELAX! It dissipates after a couple days. It's not toxic.These are GORGEOUS! I bought the blue-green color. I found the zipper-back to be stylish, so, not sure what those complaints are all about.The base and legs are solid wood, which is a natural material that is prone to a little natural warping after the wood is cut. THIS IS NORMAL. When you put them together, do not screw the pieces down tightly and expect everything to line up! IT WON'T. Put the screws in just so it is attached, but still "wiggles" a bit. This gives you some "wiggle room" for all the pieces to line up. If you can't get a piece to line up, it's because you need to loosen one or more of the other pieces. Once you get all the wood base pieces together, THEN tighten everything securely! Then, attach the metal swivel base to the wood base. Then flip the seat over onto the corner of a low table like your coffee table or an ottoman, and screw it all down.The directions say you need 2 people to put these together. I did them myself, and I'm just a 5-foot tall female. Not sure why you would need 2 people... The crates they are shipped in are crazy sturdy! Quite impressive! I used the end of a hammer to open them, but I wished I had a crowbar! Watch out for the long sharp staples in the side braces, especially if you have kids. You don't want anyone stepping on the braces or getting scratched by them.These come with the tools to put them together, but you will need time and patience to put the first set of screws in because of the tight angles. If you are not a patient person, I recommend getting an extra-long drill bit extension with allen wrench tips to put these together.After a good week or so of use after the wood has had a chance to settle in, go back in and tighten everything. Again, a TOTALLY NORMAL THING TO HAVE TO DO, especially for natural wood furniture.These are really beautiful with extra large cushioned seats that are very comfortable. They are 100% worth the time it takes to put them together. I highly recommend them!

These chairs look SO good. Very sturdy and comfortable too. They definitely have a WOW factor!

We really like these chairs for the price we paid. These didn't have any reviews, however, we took a chance. I'm very glad we did. The good - the microfiber upholstery is extremely soft, the seat is very comfortable, the back is very comfortable, the stool is very solid, and they swivel very smoothly. The bad - the box they came in looked like it was run over by a truck, several wood pieces were scratched, a couple of the pegs were broken off, and if you are not handy then they are very difficult to put together. My husband is very handy, so he's going to touch up the paint where they were scratched. Also, we used a drill with an allen wrench bit. I believe if we didn't have that and had to use the manual one, it would have taken hours to put together. I would just make sure you have someone handy that has the right tools to put it together. Once they are done, we love them!

Comfortable, sturdy, attractive chairs

Right out the box, these bar stools smell like a fish and chemical market! The smell is overbearing. Seller suggest airing out for a day. I set out on my screened back patio for two weeks and they still stink beyond measure. The stench is no joke!Secondly, the white zipper down the back is hideous and very tacky. Do not purchase if you aren’t looking for white expanded zipper to match your decor. The zipper is wide and makes the stools look terrible from the back. It’s hidden on website and in other review posts but I’m sharing so you can be well informed before purchasing.Lastly, despite the defect in the smell, please understand the seller will NOT pay for return shipping! Be prepared to pay a hefty return delivery fee to send back. You will loose money on this purchase. I paid the return shipping fee because I spent over $400 for four bar stools. By the way, the seller is “F” rated with the Better Business Bureau.

Decided to order these swivel stools to replace our old "backless" stools for some added comfort while eating at our breakfast nook. They completely fit the purpose and I am completely pleased with my purchase.

I will begin with the positives; they look great and are sturdy--I really like them! Here are the buts; it definitely takes 2 adults to assemble and the picture directions are ok but "word directions" could help as well. You will also need other/ better tools beyond the ones they provide. The final but was the SMELL of the material as we were taking them out of the plastic it SMELLED LIFE FISH!!! I had to spray heavily and air them out for 24 hours. Again they look great in my new house and they are a source of entertaining story telling.

Zipper visible on back of chair & it’s a white zipper- stretched open -CHAIR LOOKS TERRIBLE FROM BACK!not red velvet- it’s a cheap faux suede with a snake pattern-burgundy with thin grey lines in it-Too much packaging to be able too return!DO NIT BUY THIS!!!
