Awesome
Does not take up a lot of space. Nice sound, good build quality. Just keep in mind you will need a separate audio plug and a separate power source. So you will need to turn it off. But the cool thing is you can adjust the sound levels. I use this with a Yamaha receiver.

I took a risk with a new brand and it paid off.
First off I'll start by saying that this is far from being a basshead's dream piece of hardware. This is not the speaker for you if you want to hear your eardrums distorting, your chest thumping, and your clothes moving with the notes. This is also not for your massive personal theater big enough that you could open a small store in. But, this is exactly the right speaker for your small living room or personal speaker system on your gaming rig in your bedroom. The slim and standing shape is convenient to slip out of sight and out of mind, the bass delivery is good and thorough, the cover keeps dust off and provides basic protection while being fully removable, and the woofer itself is plenty capable thanks to the generous box space it's been given. Too many times have I seen eight inch subwoofers starved of their ability because of inadequate box space. This is a ported speaker which helps to ensure it's heard loud and clear, the port being downward facing towards the floor. The amplifier and it's connections are on the bottom where it stands up at, which I thought would be a pain to work around but a standard RCA cable fits fine and the included power cable was specifically picked by the creators with this in mind so it works well. This cable is short, however, roughly three and a half feet from guessing with my eyes. It's not a proprietary cable power though and if you find this is not enough length a new one can be grabbed for under ten dollars from some no name company. The adjustable filter is excellent and it has it's own integrated volume control as well as it's own on/off switch. There is a tiny blue LED light that indicates it is ready to play and is actively on, which turns red after not detecting any input for a while. It never shuts off completely at any point and if audio is detected in this state it simply turns the woofer back on without needing to be interacted with manually. This reactivation is fast and as far as I can tell it has no perceptible delay.

Very nice subwoofer! Glad I purchased it!!!! Great Price too!
I bought the Jamo to replace a Yamaha sub that was having problems. The Yamaha served me well but it was going so I was looking for an inexpensive alternative that would accommodate a small office. At this price point the Jamo is pretty impressive. Very tight bass and very loud considering it is a 8" sub. I only use it for music so I can't comment on how it would perform with movies, but for music it is awesome! Now I do feel it is a tad tight in it's sound but hopefully it will break in and open up a little. But overall a nice compliment to my tower speakers and it cranks connected to my Yamaha RX-A550 receiver. The Jamo is also really nicely built for a 150 bucks...build quality was better than I expected. Solid construction and pretty heavy too so don't think you're getting something that isn't substantial...this is a substantially built sub. Nice looking too that should fit any modern decor.Overall a great buy that I am quite happy with! Will look to buy more Jamo products in the future!

solid budget performer, but Amazon treats these like s***
The fact that it works at all is surprising with the way amazon treated it, and the replacement. The first one came in with a broken screen. Rather than trying to risk it, I ordered a replacement. That box was even more destroyed. That being said one of these did work, so this review is about that one. Bass is a bit loose and boomy. Not to bad, and plenty good for my setup (SMSL amp with 2 Samsung surround speakers that match my desk). Power cord is way too short but is a very standard one that I was able to purchase a replacement. The included RCA is super thin and I didn't use it. Instead got a 90 degree adapter and used my existing 3.5mm to Coax cable (SMSL requires it for sub out on this model).Goes deeper than expected, but it is not a 12. I feel like sometimes it tries to be, which is why its a bit boomy and loose sounding. However this critique comes from someone who prefers sealed subs for home theater. Plenty loud for a desk sub, and have it adjusted as best I could. I do wish the adjustments were on the top or back. Its annoying to have to lift the sub up (under a desk) and make tweeks to the filter and gain.Overall for a the sale price I got it for, I can't complain too much.

Nice clean sound
I got a refurbished model. One corner has a barely noticeable patch; otherwise perfect. The first thing you notice when unpacking is that at 22 lbs it is heavier than competing 8" woofers. Connection with a 1/8" standard stereo connecting cable is simple and foolproof. If your amp doesn't have a 1/8" stereo line out (also called "aux" ), adapters are very cheap. My Fluance studio pro speakers are rated to 40 hz, but they get a little weak down this low, thus the subwoofer. I set my s808 cutoff for 80Hz, a pretty standard cutoff frequency, but when I experimented with higher frequencies, the subwoofer bass stayed clean and authentic. I listen mostly to jazz and classical so authentic sounding acoustic bass is important. The lowest frequency on a standard acoustic bass is 40 Hz; standard electric guitar is about 80Hz. I listen to some jazz with electric bass, and electric bass sounds great through the Jamo s808. Acoustic bass in a live performance is never muddy sounding, and the Jamo, unlike some subwoofers I have known, produces a clean authentic sounding bass. Controls on the bottom are nice in that they are invisible, but not so nice in that they are not easily accessible; however, since the auto start/shutoff works flawlessly, I just set the controls and forget them. I like this subwoofer a lot.

Why buy a 10" ???
Wife made me get rid of my Polk 10" sub, too big and ugly she said. I was sad until the Jamo showed up. Wow, not sure why I needed a 10" (no pun intended). For the price this is 95% everything my Polk is, and much smaller footprint to keep the wife happy. Still fills the (small) living room with a warm bottom bass and punches when needed. Highly recommended

Beautiful Product. Dreadfully ineffective packaging. Arrived damaged on 6 of its 8 corners.
This is a gorgeous sub, and my friend's sounds great; at 8", it doesn't push a huge amount of air and won't handle extreme lows but it completes a home theatre setup nicely and adds a nice whooshy thump to music. Price is very fair for the build quality, design and sound if you can get one undamaged. The packaging is thin cardboard and the corners are protected with a brittle XPS that is far too thin and weak; there is no face protection other than the thin cardboard and a plastic bag for any side, including the grille, which had 3 of its 4 attachment pins sheared off. It also returns without a prepaid sticker, so I've had to PREPAY over 70 bucks to send the thing back, which Amazon says will require their review to decide whether or not they refund. That's unacceptable and anything but a Prime experience. I'd love to order another but with this packaging, the item's weight and so many others sharing the same experience there is very little chance of it arriving undamaged. I'll have to choose another brand that I can find stocked at a retailer or look for a Jamo 808 or larger from a supplier that can offer the purchase protection I was under the impression that Prime would provide. It's irresponsible of a supplier to ship this item in its retail shelf packaging.

Excelente relación costo / beneficio
Subwoofer con muy buen sonido, el crossover muy sencillo de configurar y un gran complemento a mis bocinas existentes, lo uso en un sistema estéreo para escuchar música principalmente.

Arrived with major cosmetic damage and removing two stars which is otherwise a good product
Product came damaged, attached image clearly shows sent on the edge. The product works fine but bummed it has come damaged and quite noticeable. I would have sent it in for a refund but it took forever to arrive. Did a few tests and works fine otherwise. My friend bought the same product from STC and same problem with noticeable cosmetic damage on the product. The styrofoam inside was damaged as well. Payed for customs as well. Thanks

Muy buenos bajos
Por su apariencia pensarías que los bajos no son fuertes, pero tiene potencia de sobra y muy buen desempeño
